Browns trade Baker Mayfield to the Panthers for a conditional fourth or fifth-round pick, depending on how much time he plays. Panthers will pay $4.85 million of his salary while the Browns will pay $10.5 million.

So now the Panthers have Mayfield and Darnold. Sign Rosen to make it a hat trick.

Likely Matt Rhule’s last rodeo unless the Panthers improve dramatically. Seems like they’re throwing darts at a board, at this point.

I know everyone deserves an attorney to defend them in court, but sometimes I have to wonder how low you have to be to argue some of the things that they argue.

A Las Vegas judge ruled the blood alcohol tests administered to Henry Ruggs are admissible as evidence in his case, according to Anthony Olivieri of ESPN.com. Ruggs’ attorney argued no probable cause existed for the tests, which occurred hours after the former Raiders wide receiver was involved in a car accident that killed a woman and her dog.

There’s obvious time constraints in applying for a search warrant for a blood draw,” Justice of the Peace Ann Zimmerman said. “Under the totality of the circumstances, there is more than sufficient evidence for a finding of probable cause for the issuance of the search warrant in this case. Nobody has mentioned so far that Mr. Ruggs was seriously injured in this accident and transported to the hospital, so he would have been unable to submit to field sobriety tests. Coupled with his refusal to answer questions, this does not result in a reward.”

This guy needs to go away for a while.

Former WR Charles Johnson, a 1994 first round pick by the Steelers, has passed away at the age of 50. Cause of death not yet known.

Kyler Murray, 5-year, $230.5 million extension.

Jimmy Garoppolo given permission to seek trade.

Browns work out Josh Rosen and AJ McCarron. Also, if you think about it, they're paying Baker Mayfield $10.5 million and DeShaun Watson $230 million to start Jacoby Brissett.

I think Arizona will end up regretting this particular deal.

One of the sports talk show hosts here in Seattle this morning said that Denver is going to regret signing Russell Wilson next year when his contract comes up, because he wants to be the highest paid quartback in the league, so he is going to want Kyler Murray type money and Denver is either going to have to pay up or trade.

RB Chris Carson's career is over after five seasons. The Seahawks released him after a failed physical designation.

I'm excited for the Tray Lance era to officially begin in San Francisco. I'm hoping he does pretty good in his first full season as QB. He definitely needs the experience.

(sigh) these Bears.
The Bears acquired Reiff on Tuesday after he spent last season in Cincinnati, where he started 12 games at right tackle before his season was cut short due to an ankle injury. The 33-year-old has extensive experience playing left and right tackle, with 144 career starts between both positions.
A 33 year old coming off an ankle injury. That's the kind of guy we get for the O-Line.

Chicago let 80% of its receiver room walk in free agency and brought in players based on previous connections, notably Pringle -- who put together his best season as a pro in Kansas City last season while Poles was in the front office -- and St. Brown, who was with new offensive coordinator Luke Getsy in Green Bay.
Yeah, a connection with a front office guy is reeeeeally significant.

Tons of UFA's signed. It might be a whole new team, but I'm betting on similar results.
