Balanced by the fact Geno was a NY Jet for 4 years (a Giant for 1 and a Charger for 1) before going to the Seahawks, his stats still look pretty below average. Most or all of the last 4 years are as a backup, so hard to tell what he could do as a starter on a decent team.
His college stats are unsurprisingly better. A lot of so-so NFL QB's looked better at the college level, but then couldn't handle the pros as well.

For the Bears, today’s game against the Raiders was a “revenge” game, because of what the Raiders did to them two seasons ago in London.
The Raiders, coming off a bad loss to a division rival, and playing at home, did not rise to the occasion. That’s par for the course for Gruden’s Raiders. Last several years it’s been the defense. That’s been kinda fixed with Gus Bradley. So Gruden decides to blow up the O line last season and now we can’t run the ball and can’t score.
If the Raiders go into the tank again this season, Gruden should be fired immediately after the season ends.
Gruden’s confirmation that he is a racist is just one more reason for quality role playing free agents to pass on the team. I’d always suspected Gruden was MAGA partly because of his lax attitude on the league’s mask policy. His response also left much to be desired. I hope he germs suspended.

They should have never hired him. One could see this train wreck coming from a mile away. He had been out of the league for a decade. Not too many coaches can come back and be successful again.
And he should’ve been fired when that email came to light.
Gruden is an idiot who has been trading on his "I'm obsessed with work" mentality, his PR abilities, and the one Super Bowl he won (against a team that hadn't bothered to change the playbook HE wrote) for well over a decade. He's a bad coach and the Raiders deserve better.
I blame the airline for the London game. They lost our Defense on that trip and it took a while to find it again. That was also the point that Nagy went from offensive genius to predictable hack.
Never been a fan of either of the Gruden bros. They're really just dicks - no way to say it nicely. Jon Gruden's getting his now... Jay Gruden was the second-longest running coach for WFT since Gibbs and accomplished damn near zero for them. Good riddance to the both of them.

He was neither a good head coach or GM. And it was the GM side that got his coach side fired. Some of those completely absurd trades the Texans made were his doing.
Maybe O'Brien should go back to the college ranks - he did damn well at Penn State in the hell of the post-scandal times.
My sister in law has a cousin that's married to Gruden. I've never heard about him being explicitly racist 'per se' but it really wouldn't surprise me given what I've heard about him. In that passive "good old boy" sense that thinks emails like the uncovered one would be okay.

I thought he was a decent enough coach, just not a very good coach/GM. He was 54-52, even with poor GM's, including himself. I imagine he will get another shot relatively soon in either the NFL or at an NCAA Power Five school.
I just don't know how you walk into that facility and face your minority players after that email got out?

if it was any other NFL team, with a couple of notable exceptions, I might agree, especially since hearing it reported today that the league has sent additional emails sent by Gruden, for the Raiders to review, but Mark Davis hasn’t shown himself to be a paragon of football savvy or courage.
If the new emails are as explicitly racist as the one we know about, Mark may be pressured to make a move. And it’s not that I think Mark is a racist. We know that that’s not a flaw his dad was afflicted with so I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt until I see reason not to.
As an aside, Keyshawn Johnson said about Gruden today, that Gruden was a “bad guy,” and a “bad person.” Keyshawn said he couldn’t call Gruden a racist,probably because he’d never actually heard anything racist himself, so being a racist is not a big leap.
