NFL 2021 season - Belichick Strikes Back

He has a long way to go still, but the numbers are good for Mahomes.

Las Vegas Raiders DE Carl Nassib announces he is gay on social media.

Can’t wait to see reactions from Joe and Jane Yee-Haw! about why he has to be all in their face about it.

Can't be any worse than when players were kneeling for the anthem resulting in fans burning their jerseys and threatening to stop watching football forever.

The response from the Yee-Haw family I’v seen most often on Twitter has been “I don’t care, why do I need to know this:” When I see this I always think that what they’re really saying is “don’t publicize this, it’ll get normalized.” That’s a similar response to reports of racism. If it’s never reported then it doesn’t exist and they can pretend they still live in the 50’s or something.

I’m sure it’s worse depending on where on the internet you go.

Cudos to Nassib. This took guts. But what’s interesting will be when other players start to come out. I’m sure some heads will explode.

In the meantime, GO RAIDERS!!!

I can't imagine any team wants to be in the DeShaun Watson business right now. I have a hard time thinking of a scenario in which he actually plays this year.

Edit: I mean, with Watson, it's a triangulation problem. There's the obscene cap hit, there's the question of who would give up draft picks, and the Texans also need to find a trade partner with a market that has its head in the sand and thinks a gigantic fucking billow of smoke doesn't mean fire.

I believe some of the latest NFL power rankings have the Texans ranked at 33 out of 32 teams. The Texans are such a mess right now it's unbelievable. Watson has basically not only pissed on the Texans but on himself as well. I don't think he'll be on the field for any team this season, and possibly not ever again. The Texans are the very definition of the term "cluster fuck". LOL

A lawyer's lawyer...

https://www.profootballrumors.com/2021/07/falcons-barkevious-mingo-arrested-on-felony-charge

The attorney representing Mingo, Lukas Garcia, said this allegation is from over two years ago and is “completely baseless,” via NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport (on Twitter). Garcia adds he does not have much information on the nature of the allegation, which led to a second-degree felony charge.

I don't know the details, but my client is totally innocent of them!

The NFL has informed teams that if a game cannot be played and cannot be rescheduled due to a COVID outbreak among non-vaccinated players, the team with the outbreak will forfeit the game and it will go down as a loss in their record ... which has obviously far-reaching playoff implications.

It's really weird to see the goddamn NFL, of all leagues, taking the strongest stance on "get the goddamn shot(s), you morons."

Edit: In the event of a forfeit, all players on both teams will not get their weekly game check. No one gets paid if a game is canceled because of a COVID outbreak.

I imagine the NFLPA will fight that particular stipulation hard if a game gets cancelled.

Wouldn't have been announced if the NFLPA hadn't already agreed to it; anything that can adjust player compensation has to be collectively bargained. You forget how weak and spineless the NFLPA has become under De Smith's leadership.

Jerry Jones admits he was in the wrong when he parted ways with Jimmy Johnson.

"I've never been able to know why I f----d it up," confessed Jones. "No, I can't answer those questions."
I can - because Jerry is a self-absorbed idiot. Just like his buddy Dan "Dark Heart" Snyder. Two peas in a pod, those. Honestly, I don't think it's any more mystifying or complicated than that. He just doesn't want to say the quiet part out loud, because he's a self-absorbed idiot. Q.E.D.
