NFL 2021 season - Belichick Strikes Back

Welp, with the Charger’s loss today, thanks Pats, the Raiders are in sole possession of first place in the AFC West for prob the first time in 4 years. Who would have called this before the season? Enjoying it while I can.

Pro Football Focused tweeted out today tha the Raiders D is in the top 5 in pass rush and pass defense (I think pass defense). I don’t know who the next coach will be, but whoever it is better keep Gus Bradley.

Titans RB Derrick Henry could be done for the year with something called a Jones fracture. It would definitely make Tennessee’s run to the playoffs a far more difficult proposition.

And right before they visit the Rams for Sunday Night Football.

Too bad. Still should be a great game, though.

Just read Adrian Peterson is going to visit the team.

Jameis Winston of the Saints is done for the year.

I think the NFL overprotecting QB's is starting to backfire, they don't expect to get hit and take risks they otherwise wouldn't take on a football field.

Accidentally slapping the helmet of a QB is Unnecessary Roughness, Hit To The Head, etc. They called that play a Horsecollar, but he got Winston's jersey, so there ya go.

National Flag Football League here we come. That's two-fold, all the fucking penalty flags for lame shit + they'll end up actually playing flag football at some point.

Uh...GOOD!

I knew something was up when they traded Kenny Young out of nowhere, but Miller wasn't even on my radar.

Pairing him with Leonard Floyd in the 3-4 is going to be fucking outstanding.

:techman:

Yeah, pairing him with the guy we let get away.

Good? Bad?

Rams are definitely all in this year, giving up 2022 second- and third-round picks for a half season of Von Miller. Interesting to see if it works out.

The Broncos, on the other hand, are essentially waving the white flag on 2021 and Vic Fangio as Head Coach. GM George Paton is hunting for a QB in '22 and amassing the ammo to get one.

Super bad for the Broncos. Von Miller IS the Broncos defense.

Rumor has it that he's had a long-time pissing contest with jolly old Saint Elway (long viewed as a demigod in Denver) and refused to bend the knee and kiss the ring (GASP!). Elway has publicly threatened to let Miller go (citing B.S. field performance issues) while the overall team has suffered in general since Peyton's departure in 2016. In the meantime, Elway continued to milk Denver's Superbowl win with many local TV commercials and other endorsements while leaving the team on autopilot, letting it basically fall apart. Miller's disdain for the current state of affairs has also been rather vocal, which ruffled Elway's feathers. If this happens, I suspect Denver's overall league defense rating will go into free-fall. The fact that there is currently no official team owner isn't helping matters any, either.

Miller's spent a good part of this season on IR. This is probably the excuse Elway is leveraging to punt him.
