NFL 2020 Season: We're gonna bite a kneecap off

The Super Bowl should always be at a neutral site. Go anybody but Tampa(and that's before Tom fucking Brady).

The Super Bowl should always be at a neutral site.

Kind of hard to do when the venue needs to be booked years in advance and you don't know who the teams are until two weeks before the game.

And most college stadiums and cities don't fulfill the NFL's long list of requirements for a host city, including hotel and airport capacity, and being able to provide an uninterrupted 1.5-mile stretch for buses, media trucks and entertainment booths / tents.

I have no interest in the upcoming Super Bowl. Just don't need to see Tom Brady yet again.

I think we're going to find out somewhere down the road that Tom Brady is juicing, probably on human growth hormone. There's just no way the skills stay that sharp for 20 years.

Once in 50+ years, no big deal.

We had a couple of close to home games.

Super Bowl XIV was hosted at the Rose Bowl and the LA Rams played in the game, Super Bowl XIX had the 49ers playing at Stanford Stadium.

Realistically I know. I'm just saying how it should be. :p

Permanent site in Hawaii? It's not like "regular" people can afford tickets anyway. Or Canton?

Hey the Edward Jones Dome needs to be used for something now right? :shifty:

As a Patriots fan I'm kinda leaning toward the Bucs because of Brady and Gronk, but I also like Mahomes and Andy Reid, so I'm fine with whoever wins.

It is kind of appropriate for Brady and Mahomes to square off in the Super Bowl, though. The old king versus the new king.

They are tearing down Aloha Stadium because it's a shithole and falling apart. Believe trying to build something new, closer to town, but current stadium is done. Kinda fun that I was there for (I believe) the last game played at the stadium, Hula Bowl. Was a couple weeks before we all got Pandemic'ed... And yeah, was pretty rough shape.

Not sure 1 time in 50+ years is enough to bother changing the rules over. And Hawaii is unlikely to spend on a multi-billion dollar stadium, so you're better off playing in brand new, full NFL stadiums and risk a home team game than playing under crappier conditions to ensure no one sleeps in their own bed. Not like many locals get tickets anyway, and for the very few fans that get in at all, the teams that are playing (in theory) get to distribute some amount of tickets, so not like it'll be a Tampa home game aside from not needing as many hotel rooms...

How much of that is trying to get the Pro Bowl back full time d'ya suppose?

Does anyone still watch that? I get why they moved it before the SB to increase viewership, but banning SB players (I believe this is still the case, yes?) seemed counter-intuitive. I get they don't want them hurt a week before the finale, but a lot of people used to watch it for the top all-stars of the league, many of whom are SB contenders.

Then there's the weird extra rules that I discovered from Bleacher Report while perusing for Pro Bowl info:
There is no motion allowed on offense. A tight end must be on the field in all formations. Only two receivers are allowed on one side of the field. Intentional grounding is legal. Defense can only play in a 4-3 formation.

Yes. There's more.

No press coverage outside of the 5-yard line is allowed. No blitzing is allowed. No rushing punts, field goal, or point after attempts are allowed, either.

Players' moms will be cutting off the crust from their sandwiches during halftime, too.
