I don't think Gruden understands what is meant by a transaction having a "tail". He can't credibly talk about his pass rush (or even his defense, in general), until the Raiders develop a monster pass rush.Jon Gruden says great pass rushers are hard to find.

The Raider's defense was pathetic last season, so the gut punch of trading away the defense's best player (and best player on the team), and then lamenting the lack of a pass rush, I'm sure, has his team as well as the rest of the league looking at Gruden like he's crazy.
If this move of his doesn't work out, he will likely never be able to shake the mantle of league laughing stock.
