NFL 2018 Season

This just in: Khalil Mack is pretty good.

Hope Chucky is feeling good about his decision making.

I was watching NFL Network last night, and they were talking about Gruden saying they needed to figure out the pass rush. In the background, they had a big screen with a picture of Mack on it. One of the anchors quietly drew a circle around Mack, then arrows pointing at Mack, then a frowny face and a Raiders logo.

I watched some of that game and there was a quick clip of him yelling at someone on the sidelines but I didn't catch what it was all about.

Maybe sick of JuJu getting all his targets?

He was yelling at the OC.

There was an article I saw the other day, where Emanuel Sanders said it was tough being the #2 WR in Pittsburgh because Brown wants to be targeted all the time. I wonder how much truth there is to it?

Is it me or do the Steelers seem to be imploding this year?

Tough to be that consistently good year after year. They were due for a down year.

Seems like Cleveland will go on being Cleveland for a while. Hue Jackson didn't know his K had a groin injury, even though Gonzalez had an MRI on it.

Prior to the Browns waiving kicker Zane Gonzalez, Hue Jackson did not know the second-year specialist was dealing with a groin injury. The third-year Browns HC (via Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk) said he knew “nothing about an injury whatsoever” and that no one from the Browns’ medical department told him Gonzalez was hurt, which could set up for an interesting situation as Cleveland pivots to another kicker. It hasn’t been reported that Gonzalez was waived with an injury designation, and Florio posits an injury grievance from Gonzalez could be in the cards. Gonzalez’s groin malady required an MRI, but he still attempted a 52-yard field goal in the final seconds Sunday. This information also doesn’t put Jackson in an especially positive light, given Gonzalez’s struggles on Sunday — ones that led directly to Cleveland’s 21-18 loss.

Mike Tomlin has GOT to go.. he has lost control.

I think we need more to go on than two bad weeks. The guy is 124-67-1, and it isn't his fault that the Steelers have a fractured relationship with LeVeon Bell, or that the drafts haven't exactly delivered stellar performers over the last couple of seasons.

Something like this could be the head coach losing the locker room, regardless of his record. Remember when Doug Collins kept getting the Bulls this close to the finals year after year, with an excellent overall record? Then he was replaced with Phil Jackson and BAM, finals, finals finals.

It absolutely could be that Tomlin has lost the locker room, at the same time I believe two games is too small of a sample size to go on. And the Doug Collins situation really isn't the same as Tomlin has a ring with the Steelers.

Oh yeah, not identical situations. But the Bulls are a good example of firing a head coach with a good/great record in favor of someone who can get them over the hump. I don't know if Collins ever lost the locker room, it was a long time ago.

And maybe not having "lost the locker room", but Tomlin seems like he'd be a yeller, so maybe guys have started tuning him out (if there's a difference there).

I rewatched the first half of the Chiefs-Steelers game last night on NFL Network. The Steelers don't look like they've quit on Tomlin. They were down 21-0, then came back to tie the game 21-21 right before the half, and lost 42-37. Roethlisberger is still one of the very best QB's in the game.

I believe they don't have the talent on defense to run with high octane offenses like the Chiefs. That, and the LeVeon Bell situation, fall more on the front office than the coaching staff.

Jon Gruden says great pass rushers are hard to find. :guffaw:

When asked about the Raiders' struggles to get to the opposing quarterback, coach Jon Gruden replied with what we already know.

"It's hard to find a great one," Gruden said, according Scott Bair of NBC Sports Bay Area. "It's hard to find a good one. It's hard to find one; you just said it. With college football, they aren't dropping back to pass and throwing anymore.

The Browns look like turds out there tonight. Use white or orange for Color Rush games.
