A shame. He had a world of talent and a ten-cent head.
Sounds like the "equipment" was manipulated. #inflategate
What a moron. This is a guy who could have had the world on his plate and blew it, repeatedly. Idiot
Jason Witten is unretiring and heading back to play for the Cowboys. Hey, anything to get him out of the MNF booth...
Apparently Todd Gurley has arthritis in his injured knee. That sucks, because he really is a talented guy.
Well, SOMETHING had to be up, with the way he was used in the NFC Championship and Super Bowl.
This shouldn't be a surprise. The number of injuries he had at Georgia makes this almost feel like it was inevitable. I suspect his career is basically over now and even if he comes back he will only be a shell of what he use to be.
I got early-onset arthritis in my left knee (a side-effect of basically having it rebuilt during my senior year of high school; the baseball accident in which my knee exploded was pretty traumatic), and it sucks. I'm only almost 35 and I've been walking with a cane since July.
Hope he can get some treatment that helps him.
Yep it does suck to get it. I also have arthritis in both my knees and I am 43. The doctor said I had a knee of 60 year old and is even talking about a knee replacement. I'm not sure what it means for a pro athlete though. Is this the end of his career? Can someone still play with this condition?
I mean, it depends on how severe the inflammation is already. Gurley's young and there have been promising studies into using stem cells to restore the cartilage in the knee. Obviously, cortisone injections can reduce the inflammation. It likely will have a significant impact on his ability to cut laterally without pain, which is pretty important for a running back.
I don't think his career is over, but he will have to adapt his style, because arthritis is by its very nature degenerative, like the Lisfranc injury that ruined Donovan McNabb, or the plantar fasciitis that ruined Albert Pujols' last several years.
Theh Bears sign kicker Chris Blewitt to potentially replace the guy who, in fact, blew it.
They had previously signed kicker Redford Jones.
After demanding a trade, Antonio Brown might be going to... Buffalo. That sure backfired on him.
I saw the news about Blewitt on the Vikings' Reddit. I immediately found myself cleaning the tea off my computer screen.
I guess Jeff Wideright wasn't available...
Sounds like Antonio Brown threw a fit and the Buffalo trade isn't happening anymore. He also wants a raise, which supposedly scared off another team earlier this week.
If I'm the Steelers, I simply keep him. Show up for work, or don't. You are going to be here for the long haul.
Antonio Brown is a Raider. Oakland trades 3rd and 5th round picks for the receiver.
Jeez, Oakland didn't even have to give up one of those 1st rounders. Pittsburgh did not do well here, and they're eating $21M against their cap.
My.btggest concern was that the Raiders were going to have to give up one of their firsts for AB, but a third and a fifth? Looks like Gruden may have won this trade.
So the Raiders now looks like rocket scientists. They trade Amari Cooper and then upgrade with Antonio Brown.
