Well, the Seattle Green Bay game was close....for a while.

As a Bears fan I'm always happy to see GB get whipped.

I love the Hawks and really do like Green Bay, but tonight was business! And my Hawks rocked! Possibly causing another earthquake. :D

If Seattle can maintain that level of defensive speed and intensity, they could win it all this year. They looked amazing, particularly in the second half.

Cool little story involving the Cincinnati Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals player who was cut from the team and then brought onto the practice squad in order to help pay for his daughter’s cancer treatments says he sees the move as a “blessing in disguise.”

Defensive tackle Devon Still found out Saturday that he had been cut from the Bengals’ roster but then found out he had been given a second chance for his daughter, 4-year-old Leah, who was diagnosed with stage 4 pediatric cancer in June.

As a member of the Bengals’ practice squad, Still will receive medical insurance and a weekly salary of $6,300.

He will also be able to travel less, giving him more time to spend at home with Leah as she completes her treatment.

Fuck cancer.

Good for the Bengals. :)

No team has ever gone to the post season following a Super Bowl win

Huh?

Yeah....I misunderstood (or over estimated by quite a bit) what the commentators were saying before the game. In the last decade no team that has won the super bowl has gone to the post season the following season.

That still isn't true. The Green Bay Packers won the Super Bowl in 2011, then won 15 games the following season (and the NFC North), made the playoffs and lost in the first round.

Yeah, I thought the statistic was only about teams that lost the Super Bowl. Even then, I wouldn't be surprised if that's completely wrong.

ETA: 2011 Patriots lost to the Giants, made the AFC Championship the following year.
2010 Steelers lost to the Packers, lost in the Wild Card the following year.
2009 Colts lost to the Saints, lost in the Wild Card the following year.

For winners, the 2009 Saints made the playoffs the following year as well.

Was there a soccer game before the Pats vs Dolphins game?

There sure are a lot of empty seats
