Next! Your choice for the next Doctor.

Which reminds me of a filming block/schedule thing I noticed

In "Flatline" the doctor has short hair(indicating early months of filming season 8) and then his hair grew a few inches after he steps out of the TARDIS

Peter Davison's was all over the place in his first series because it was shot out of order.

It got a little buried, so I'll ask again, Has anyone in the media asked Kris Marshall if he's the new Doctor? Has he denied it? Not said anything?

He looks so much more Doctory with wild hair
It is kind of funny to me that he started to look a little more like sketches I did around the time of his announcement:

I suspect we won't even have to wait until Sunday once people who actually know the real name start placing big bets.

I wonder if the timing is so they can fly him/her over for the SDCC?

And if it is Kris Bloody Marshall someone wake me up in three years when they announce the next one.

I hope the reveal show is like an episode of the Bachelor, and several possibilities are all milling about in a really expensive study, and Capaldi and/or Chibnall after an agonizing hour of small talk and indecision (and alcohol) chooses the new Doctor with a red rose.

Needs cat fights and breakdowns.

Absolutely. It needs to have Phoebe Waller-Bridge doing something backstabbery to Kris Marshall, while Patterson Joseph sits in the corner looking on while he drinks his cognac, and then there's the dramatic reveal of the unexpected candidate, and why is Matt Smith hanging around?

If we look at names who hadn't been previously mentioned who've very recently being getting a lot bets placed on them as any indication, Jodie Whittaker jumps out. And it doesn't hurt that she's been in all three series of 'Broadchurch'.

Weirdly enough, based on absolutely nothing, I was just thinking that her Broadchurch husband, Andrew Buchan, would be a good, if safe, choice.

I've been keeping an eye on the Odds this evening and they've been all over the place, with Jodie Whittaker plunging down and Paterson Joseph jumping up but sadly Marshall remaining fixed at the top.

The funniest name is David Harewood who is sitting in the Top 5 despite being stuck in Canada playing Marvin the Martian (I think that's right?) for another five years.

I remember when anyone Moffat had ever worked with was being touted? People really seemed to think James Nesbitt was a shoe in just because of Jekyll.

At the end of the day whoever it is I'll give a chance to, I'm just prepared to be disappointed in the BBC. I'd almost accept another white guy if it was someone unexpected (was watching Would I Lie to You earlier and I'm amazed Michael Smiley never seems to get suggested)

It's odd but I've never been able to see Harewood as the Doctor. I mean Kris Marshall I can see as the Doctor, yes he'd be bland and utterly safe, but he has some quirk to him, it might just be that I've never seen Harewood other than in very serious roles.
