Next Gen eps as TOS

I think that the TOS episodes were so iconic and fresh for the most part that many would have worked as TNG episodes but...........

what episodes of TNG would have worked as TOS episodes?

I think several first season episodes may have fit for TOS, but any really good episodes that may have worked?

I think so many of the good episodes of TNG were Klingon and Worf or Data related that it might not be in keeping with how the Klingons were treated in TOS for them to work.

My pick...........

"The Wounded" a Starfleet captain goes rouge against a Federation rival and Kirk has to stop him.

Thoughts?

I think the Arsenal of Freedom would have worked well. Landing party, including the captain, in peril, B plot on the ship, lesson about making your weapons too powerful, etc.

Yesterday's Enterprise:
Kirk: Spock, confirm that this...NX-01 is from the 22nd century.
Spock: The design of the warp engines and its hull composition are both clear indicators of its early origin.
McCoy: My god, man! You can't expect us to believe that. Look at its interiors! Loaded with plasma-screen monitors. We don't even have that in THIS century. Jim, it's a trap.
Kirk: I concur. Mister Sulu, arm weapons --

Relics:
Scotty: Admiral Archer's dog! I knew that confounded beast was in there somewhere.

Unification:
Kirk: "Captain's log. First Officer Spock has left us to pursue a private mission on Romulus. I wish him safe travels, and have promoted Lieutenant Sulu to the position of first officer."

Lower Decks
Chekov, Rand, Chapel and Riley have whacky adventures on the Enterprise, are evaluated for promotion and Riley gets sent on a secret undercover mission into Klingon territory

"The Wounded" a Starfleet captain goes rouge against a Federation rival and Kirk has to stop him.

Thoughts?

Shatner did wear rouge, especially early in
Season 1.

But seriously, folks...how about Who Watches the Watchers? It had all the hallmarks of the original series...including the same locations.

TNG's third year has a plethora of TOS-like stories, which would fit in very well with the adventures of Kirk's Enterprise:

The Ensigns of Command
The Survivors
Who Watches the Watchers
Booby Trap
The Enemy
The Vengeance Factor
The Defector
The Hunted
The High Ground
Yesterday's Enterprise
Tin Man
Transfigurations

And it would be very interesting to see what TOS would have done with Heart of Glory, The Arsenal of Freedom, Contagion, Time Squared, Up the Long Ladder, First Contact, The Drumhead, Chain of Command, and The Pegasus.

All of these make up most of the best of TNG, which in my view, is in no small part because the stories retain traits of TOS.

Parallels - Sulu comes back from a fencing tournament, and finds that things keep changing, including a version where he's married to Uhura.

Conundrum - The crew's memory is erased, and records show Spock is just the science officer, while some new guy is first officer.

Deja Trelane - Trelane, the Squire of Gothos, is stripped of his powers and dumped on the Enterprise.

Angel One, the planet which is entirely lead by women.

Kirk would (of course) get the marooned shipwreaked survivers by just giving the leader a long hard kiss.

'The Squire Returns'. Let out to play once more, Squire Trelane goes in search of the Enterprise. He insists he's not after revenge or anything so petty, instead, he wants to help them on their mission of peaceful exploration. With a gesture he hurls the ship across thousands of light years to an unknown part of the galaxy.

Trelane refuses to help them return, saying that what they will find out here is much more interesting than anything nearer to home. And soon, long range sensors detect a huge, cube shaped vessel on an intercept course...

Reunion

Leila Kalomi (From 'This side of Paradise') beams over with her and Spock's son. A vulcan leader is poisoned and a replacement is to be decided.

Probably by a fight to the death, a la 'Amok Time'. That would be logical

(sings that song that plays during the fight)
