News Next Arrowverse Crossover to Include Batwoman

One other advantage of a smaller crossover is that it probably won't have to be as much of a bottle show. As epic as Crisis on Earth-X was, I couldn't help noticing how much of it was structured to take place on the show's standing sets. Part 1 had the reception at CC Jitters, parts 2-3 were largely set at STAR Labs, part 3 had the Earth-X resistance headquarters look inexplicably like the Team Arrow bunker, and part 4 was mostly aboard the Waverider and it evil twin. If this crossover is largely set in Gotham City, they won't be able to rely as much on existing sets, so having to pay fewer series-regular-level actor salaries and residuals means they'll be able to invest more in new sets. (Unless, I dunno, they set much it at CatCo's Gotham office which uses the same layout as their National City office.)

Then do a crossover show involving the Legends and Black Lightning. Why would that be so impossible for the Arrowverse producers?

You know what? I'm not going to bother arguing. I do know that I won't be watching this next crossover.

After watching John Wick it would be interesting if she played her as a mute. Might be quite intimidating if done right.

It's not, but I assume the BL producers would have to be willing. And I'm not sure they are.

I hope they are not willing to do that. BL is a strong series standing on its own feet, with a very distinct identity and tone far apart from the rest of the DC/CW shows. I would not want BL to lose that to any degree (i.e., forced to alter its handling to accommodate other series' plots, characters and execution).

I didn't think that joke really worked, though. That sort of thing works best when it actually makes sense in character, and there's no in-character reason why physicist Martin Stein would have any particular animus toward the designer of the Titanic.
That joke don't work??? Seriously?????

N-1211973 , as he quoted it..made the joke even "funnier" since that was apparently prophecy that came true.

Some fans really appreciate that kind of humor...especially if we consider Legends to ben the least serious / most "comic booky" of the shows

Intergang has already been established on Earth 38 and would be an interesting nemesis with ties to Darkseid that could have consequences and continuing story lines for both earths. It is an antagonist that could occupy Batwoman's time on the street and also be formidable enough for Supergirl and Superman with the New Gods connections.

I can understand why the did the crossover the way they did, the Super family and Bat family tend to be pretty closely connected, so I can see wanting to include Supergirl at least. As close as Kara and Barry are it makes sense she'd bring in The Flash if the threat was ,serious and if it's serious enough to bring Barry in, it makes sense he'd bring Green Arrow along to. That's already a lot of characters to deal with, and once you add in Superman and Lois along with Batwoman, that's a lot of characters, so I can see leaving out the Legends.
Since Black Lightning isn't really connected to the others yet, adding him in too, would just be to much of a complication when they are already introducing Lois, and Batwoman, and establishing Gotham for the first time.
I wouldn't mind seeing BL brought into a future crossover, but it would probably be best to wait until his introduction to the wider Arrow multiverse can be more of a focus.

Well, it looks like JD was right after all -- the casting breakdown for Lois Lane has been released, and they are looking for "early 30s," even though that makes no damn sense in this continuity.

That's right. Lois should be older than Clark but at least a few years unless this continuity will change the order in which Clark and Lois joined the planet. Even if Superman started his career at 18 or 19 (the series has established he's been in action for 12 years IIRC) then he would be mid-thirties--so Lois should be at least mid to late thirties.

As I mentioned before, the show has previously established that Superman was born c. 1979, because Kara was stuck in the Phantom Zone for 24 years and arrived on Earth around 2003. It also established that Superman was already active when Kara arrived, and that Lois was one of the first reporters to interview Superman, so she must've been active as a reporter at least 15 years ago.

They're looking for a Caucasian actress in her early 30s; that doesn'tmean the character is in her early 30s.

Thanks. That's where I'm getting the twelve years from as the show started in 2015.

To me the real issue is that James Olsen is played by Mechad Brooks who is 37.

Simple solution is to do a flashback with a very young actor playing Jimmy with Tyler and whomever they cast as Lois. Showing that both Lois and Clark age very well but also little Jimmy sprouted up to be 6’3, taller than both. Or a old picture as a prop. That should have been addressed when Clark was cast. The racial issue is irrelevant. We have Jimmy/James who has always been younger than Clark Kent. Yet cast with an actor who is older and taller than him. They should at least acknowledge that James was a kid when he first met Superman. He changed, grew up. That changes a relationship. They never really even have had scenes together yet.
