News? Stories from Dubious Sources

They are no longer the showrunners. They have walked away from the project over 2 years ago I believe?
Oops, you're correct. Seems like it's now Craig Sweeney.

Though as of September 2022, Deadline's still reporting Kim and Lippoldt as Co-EPs.

I'd guess they're waiting until PIC season 3 is over, instead of trying to overshadow it with a new announcement.

Especially if instead of being one of the expected ones like Section 31 or Starfleet Academy it's a spin off of Picard season 3, the announcement could contain spoilers.

Yeah the most obvious next show is something set in the PIC early 25th century continuity, probably whatever Terry Matalas wants to do if the amazing word-of-mouth for Season 3 is any indication...

My assumption (based on nothing) was that the Starfleet Academy show would be in that timeframe.

I'm hoping with all the super spy Raffi and worf stuff they find a way to turn PIC S3 into a backdoor S31 pilot. Since Georgiou can't exist in the future because reasons, early 25th century makes sense as somewhere they've already done some world building

So, I saw a "report" (i.e., likely made up nonsense) from GiantFreakingRobot that there is a Star Trek: Dominion Wars show in development that would cover the fallout from the Dominion War. (link: https://www.giantfreakinrobot.com/ent/star-trek-dominion-war-series.html) While I would like such a show, and arguably we are getting that a little in this third season of Picard, I see little chance that this is actually being considered - given the source here.

Just thought I would pop in and see if anyone else had seen this (I normally don't clink on GFR articles, but this one intrigued me) and had any thoughts.

They also 'reported' a Worf and Raffi show is in development.

You know, it's funny. I wanted to come in here on several occasions recently, especially after their silly Dominion War claim, to congratulate TrekBBS on refraining from posting about it. But that would bring it to everybody's attention in and of itself, defeating the point.

(To be clear, I'm not bashing you, @Ometiklan - I know that you know this is probably nothing, and I realize 'dubious sources' is right there in the thread title. It's just. You know. GFR is next-level nonsense, haha.)

yeah, I too didn't want to hype up their nonsense, but I did want to note that I liked the idea.

Star Trek: Dominion War is a strange title for a hypothetical show established after the actual war, but you know GFR is nothing if not consistent in its sillyness.

Next they’ll report a show called Star Trek: Riker but Shaw and Seven are the leads and Riker has nothing to do with it except for appear once in the pilot episode.

I'm sure they'll get to it as soon as they finish that Khan mini series (reported by that same site years ago.). ;)
