News? Stories from Dubious Sources

IMHO I think it'd be a smart move, smarter then Section 31 or Star Fleet Academy right now.

We will likely know sometime next year what the next Star Trek series will be post Picard. I mean it does seem like Tilly usbeing groomed to lead a Star Fleet Academy show, but in the current economic and cultural context, they could abadon it, in favour of an idea that they think will be more popular.

I think the Tilly SFA show is far more workable than a 25th century version (the cadets HAVE gone on mission on Disco).

I will be this series biggest critic and hold the writer’s and producer’s accountable for every line that comes from Seven of Nine’s mouth, as well as for all of the actions that she takes. I will be analysing every scene and creative decision in meticulous detail. I am sure that @Danja will be too.

Not just me ...

She has an entire army of Seven/Raffi shippers on Twitter! :D

#TeamSaffi

And here I thought I had it on good authority that a USS Republic series is in development! A trusted and proven inside source told them!

It may have been a working title for the Titan. :shifty:

They know the fandom!

Giant Freaking Robot isn't always right, smetimes down right questionable, but sometimes their rumour DO pan out.

It could explain the clip of the Enterpise F in Picard if she gets promoted at the end of the series to Captain of the Enterpise F to set up her own series.

If she does get her own series, does Raffi join her or do they break up and who or what else would you like to see in the series.

I think one or both of La Forges daughters could end up as part of Seven's crew as a TNG link.

I think this will take Picard's "slot", not SF Academy or Section 31 which honestly doesn't appear to be a popular idea with the fandom anyways.

GFR is full of shit. And if a Seven of Nine series does in fact materialize, it won't be because they had 'trusted and proven sources' that told them. It'll be because any moron with half a brain could assume that Paramount might possibly base a show around her once Picard ends. Just like what happened with Pike and SNW.

At the end of this video its mentioned that the showrunner intends to continue storylines/characters beyond the Picard Series, that suggests the rumour could be right.

Who mentioned it? The guy who made the video? What's his source?

The video seems to be twisting the things Terry Matalas said in a recent interview about aspects of DS9's aftermath (as well as Voyager's) will be addressed in season 3 of Picard. Which is a lot different than saying S3 of Picard is a sequel to DS9, but then I'm not the one making clickbait YouTube videos, so what do I know?

What is the hold up on announcing a new Trek series? We were promised announcements like more than a year ago...

DIS hasn’t announced S6.

SNW hasn’t announced S3.

LD hasn’t announced S5.

PRO hasn't announced S3.

And the fourth Kelvin film has been shelved.

Maybe this video is on to something.

It's NOT for sale.

Paramount would never permit it.

I'm assuming you're joking, but just in case you're not:

DIS hasn’t announced S6.

PRO hasn't announced S3.
DIS season 5 and PRO season 2 have been announced during season 4 and 1 respectively, so this isn't unusual.

SNW hasn’t announced S3.[/QUOTE]
SNW season 2 was announced until four months before season 1 premiered. Since we don't know when season 2 comes out it's hard to guess when exactly we'll get the season 3 announcement.

LD hasn’t announced S5.
LD season 4 was announced three months after season 2 ended, so we should see an announcement for season 5 sometime this month.

And the fourth Kelvin film has been shelved.
Has it been shelved? I thought it was in a weird "we're trying but nothing works" phase that will probably gone forever, but not shelved.

I'm assuming you're joking, but just in case you're not:
They're not.

And the video is the usual click bait for money that goes on and on with reckless speculation about things that are supposedly "bad" with the franchise. I would hope not many would put credibility to it but I've been wrong before. :weep:

Ultimately, I think it comes from a wish to see Paramount/CBS fail in a way that makes them sell Trek to conform to the fan's image. As if the new ownership would somehow conform the way fans insist Trek must be made. :guffaw:

If Star Trek is doing as bad as this guy says, why would anyone want to buy it and reboot it?

In other news, maybe we can find a way to get Nicholas Cage in a Star Trek production. I think he'd be great in Strange New Worlds:
https://trekmovie.com/2023/01/08/nicholas-cage-doesnt-want-to-be-in-star-wars-says-hes-a-trekkie/

(BTW: me posting this in "New? from Dubious Sources" is not an attempt to paint Trekmovie as a dubious. I'm mean they actually have a recording of Cage saying this stuff for one thing.)
