I hope, if true, they get Benicio del Toro to reprise the role. Yes, I know he's not of South Asian decent, but at least he's a little closer to the "spirit" of Montalban's Khan. He has a similar intensity of delivery that I think would really work here. He was rumored to have been on the short list for Into Darkness, but sadly couldn't due to some scheduling conflict. It would go a long way to pushing aside the less-than-adequate (read: abysmal) previous casting choice of Cumberbach in that role (despite the fact I love him as an actor), IMO.
Recasting Khan is abysmal, no matter the actor.
If I'm not careful they'll cite me as proof, but we know Kurtzman is interested in Khan, after Ceti Alpha V was written and more recently, the rumours of the prequel series 1992.
I don't know, I'm totally down for a Morn movie.
