All the bloody Christmas specials are fucking Victorian these days. Can we have any variation?

There are reports on Twitter that Dan Starkey has been sighted in Cardiff. Some are taking this to mean that Christmas will be another Victorian adventure with the Paternoster gang.

Or it could mean the story will feature Sontarans, but not necessarily Strax?

Or it could mean Starkey happened to be in Cardiff on business or personal reasons.

I wonder when we'll have a year without a Christmas special. I think I'd like that.

There's nothing to say the paternosta gang have to stay in Victorian times? And let's be honest we have only ever had two Victorian Christmas specials; the snowman and the next doctor.

^^Same here. Although, I'll point out that Time of the Doctor featured two Sontarans played by Starkey, neither of which were Strax, so this news doesn't necessarily mean anything.

Given how often Starkey shows up in those extra minisode things, I always just thought he hung around the set even when not needed, just in case. :P

Actually, why have they seemed to have stopped those Strax Field Reports? Those were pretty good.

I've been middling on them. Sometimes they provide useful information, sometimes they're groaners. I hope they're just pulling back a bit to keep it a bit special. Or they've devoted the cash into making the silly-named (but IMO more valuable) Doctor Who Extra.

Or, Strax himself realized that these Field Reports aren't being received by anyone, and the Doctor had been letting him do them just to be nice. Or better still, the Twelfth Doctor thinks they're stupid and has stopped letting Strax use the TARDIS selfie cam.
