Agreed.Nice matting. But it's so quick and dirty he obviously didn't do any color correcting. Stylistically the starfields don't match at all.
Last year Mark2000 did some composites from the same material, creating hand-painted parallaxed starfields to get that TOS look. Like so...
What I like about all of these is getting a realistic look at the ship's surfaces - reflectivity, paint variation, colors and light scattering, for instance - under studio lighting conditions.
Because it WAS done back in the 60s... only the starfields are new.Excellent Botany Bay and the rest looks like it was done back in the sixties!

That cable is canonI like the bit where you can see the electrical cable running down the inboard side of the starboard pylon.![]()

I as understand it, the Roddenberry Vault blu-ray.So just where are these unused effects shots coming from?
Correct, there is a treasure trove of the effects shots which look fantastic.I as understand it, the Roddenberry Vault blu-ray.

Eh I'd disagree, there were quite a few shots of Rogue One where you could probably mistake the Star Destroyers for Physical models.Nothing beats the models. CGI just doesn't look right at all.
