Newly composited shots of the TOS Enterprise

Nice matting. But it's so quick and dirty he obviously didn't do any color correcting. Stylistically the starfields don't match at all.

Last year Mark2000 did some composites from the same material, creating hand-painted parallaxed starfields to get that TOS look. Like so...

Agreed.

Cool work from Mr. Dochterman.

At the very end of the last shot, as it zooms out, we can see the topside porthole (or whatever) on the saucer front center, perhaps as clear as we ever have. It just does not look lit. Never understood why they insisted on lighting it so brightly in the current restoration.

I like the bit where you can see the electrical cable running down the inboard side of the starboard pylon. :D

It would be lovely if the whole series could be done like this, but I thought only a small handful of elements actually exist? This was why they went down the CGI route for the Blu-rays.

Correct, there is a treasure trove of the effects shots which look fantastic.

Fascinating. I didn't realize there were effects shots there. I thought it was just a few cut scenes sprinkled through out the documentary. Maybe I will have to check it out after all.
