Newcomer with an ambitious project

Did you read the "spoilers" I wrote for the century between ENT and TOS, TF2B? I'd be interested in your comments on that.

Also, have you decided yet weather to watch TAS?

And lastly, I hope you will write some longer reviews for the films when you get to that point.

Keep enjoying, and good luck.

Give TrekFan2Be a chance with VOY first. He may enjoy it. After all, he liked ENT (a series which gets really maligned on this BBS).

I enjoy his reviews from a fresh perspective. It makes Trek feel new again. But I think TrekFan2Be should split this thread up into seperate ones for each series, or it will just get too damned big.

nah I didn't mean he was gonna dislike voyager, I just think he's going to burn out before he even gets to it. He's got a LOT of trek on his plate. He's already slowing down.

Oh, Ok, sorry man... :)

But you're right. He hasn't been in here with reviews in a while. Hey, TrekFan2Be. Where are ya? What do you think of TOS?

Killjoy ;)

He probably hasn't been able to tear himself away from the TOS DVDs long enough to post his reviews. :)

@TrekFan2Be

I found this thread a month ago (without being a board member) and now I wonder what happened to your project, tired of Trek already? ;)

Well, first you need to cut out "Enterprise" and the 10th film "Nemesis", to make the viewing experience not so horrible. And if you don't feel like wasting your life on subpar dreck, then about half of "Voyager". If you have better things to do, all of "Voyager" should be dropped.

Way to shit on the effort, dude. Nothing like trying to go into the shows untainted by someone else's bias, only to read that heaping pile of it.

TrekFan2Be, ignore that crap. I've been looking forward to the resumption of your reviews, as well. I just assumed life got in the way for a spell.

It's not bias. Go ahead and ask any professional TV reviewer about their opinion on Voyager. Hell, if you could get Roger Ebert's opinion, you might have a heart attack.

There's an expression I've heard before: perhaps you're looking back on that show through rose colored glasses. It's Trek, and there's nots much Trek in the grand scheme of things, and you're just wanting it to be better than it really is, but it's not.

Since TrekFan2Be doesn't seem to be around anymore this is pretty pointless.

Even so, like a lot of us, he enjoyed Enterprise.

The hell it isn't providing bias. The guy wanted to watch the shows free of someone else's precondemnation of them (i.e., "unbiased"), which you so freely provided anyway.

And no rose colored glasses here. I know which shows and movies were shit, but I had enough respect for the guy to hold my tongue until after he'd seen them and given his two cents.

Just found this thread and have enjoyed reading the reviews. Hopefully the original poster will return at somepoint!

Yeah, I hope so too. It provides a unique viewpoint in that he's free of the biases that stem from years of experiencing Star Trek (as well as from here, where opinions seem to be very strongly stated).

I'm hoping so too... It's great to see an entirely fresh view without the usual bias. Like a few people on this thread, I'm actually kinda envious of him, so here's hoping he manages to carry on with it soon ;)

Just registered, but I've been lurking here a bit and I'm looking forward to an update on the project. (And I'd love to get my paws on a copy of that viewing list his relative made for him )

Aww, very sad that TrekFan2Be hasn't posted in almost a month. I very much enjoyed reading the entire thread for the 1st time just now. I hope he returns soon and provides his unique insight to seeing Trek for the first time.

What a bummer! I just read through this whole post and really enjoyed following his reviews and was so looking forward to seeing what he thought of TOS and the TNG! Now I guess we'll never know! :(
