Just seen the latest pics, and looks like new uniform for the crew and a update on the uniforms from the last move ,not keen on the update to the last movie as i think they had it perfect but this new one will wait and see what it is for .

Gotta agree. It looks to me like a 'pimped up' version of the away team jackets worn in "The Cage".

I like these uniforms, although you can see how they're influenced by Guardians of the Galaxy.

But also, seeing those pictures in the above link with Kirk and the pale alien girl, this is what Star Trek is. This is what was missing from the other two movies. This is purity previously only known in the Prime Universe. I think I'm actually looking forward to this movie.

I think we're about two to three years into Kirk's five year mission so around 2262-2263 and Phase II was supposed to have taken place after TOS which was in 2270

Or it could just be some other device on his wrist, a watch, perhaps? Kirk does have the regular communicator hanging from his belt, after all.

It's now two-toned, with the lighter area perhaps being a type-1 phaser.

Yep. Gone is the chevron pattern in the shirt. The collar is higher with the color matching the rest of the tunic; there is black poking out at the top of the color. There is dark red paneling on the sides, and the cut is vastly different than the '09/ItD uniforms with square shoulders/sleeves rather than a jersey-style.

The pants are no longer motorcycle jeans. The boots are also no longer the DKNY motorcycle boots (seen in other pics) and are ankle length rather than calf length.
