New Trailer reveals new old character and confirms setting

Anybody catch the cameo by Ducane (of USS Relativity)? It's at 1:53 in the trailer.

Oh, that's super nice. Picard gets arrested by 21st century police, which in and of itself is something I like to see happen.

Now, it could be Ducane working as undercover time police to interrogate and arrest Picard. It could be Ducane undercover to help Picard who gives him an earful on sticking out and getting arrested. It could be a butthurt Ducane who followed in Braxton's footsteps, being stuck in the 21st century, and found a job as a police officer, who recognises Picard and uses the opportunity to harass him. Serves him well for arresting innocent Braxton for pre-crime.

Or he could, the whole time, keep his cover and claim to be 21st century police who is unaware of the future, making all us speculate whether that was Ducane after the season airs.

Wow this trailer is not what I was expecting somehow after the teaser, but this is what I felt with the first season teaser/trailer tone shift. I mean, I knew it would be a scifi adventure with time travel and stuff, but I dunno, I guess I was expecting something more personal and Tapestry-y and not so much Voyage Home by way of First Contact. Not that I'm disappointed! FC and TVH are two of my favorite Trek movies. This looks really cool. It's just a LOT more Agent's of SHIELD than I was expecting, and I would never complain about that. I understand that the tone in trailers is not indicative of the season itself, but when the Season 1 full trailer came out and it was something I didn't expect (omg SEVEN?!) the trailer itself was pretty honest about how it portrayed what the season would look and feel like for the most part, aside from the misleads.

She is in season 2. A few weeks ago Goldberg posted a story on her IG that consisted of a picture of her as Guinan (from her TNG days not a new one) with the caption that said "Ms. G is back at the bar."

Yes, I know it's not yet confirmed to be Ducane - could be Jay Karnes playing somebody else - but with all this time travel going on, I find it rather likely that it is indeed Ducane.

Perhaps the 29th-century time police haven't been forgotten about after all...

I like the trailer. I was skeptical of the reappearance of the Borg Queen, but after reading some theories regarding her role this season, I’m more optimistic now.

Ok, so part of me is stoked about some classic Star Trek style time travel shenanigans and Q and safe Earth and the future as we know it!!

On the other hand.....I was expecting something different from a show where the first season was all about confronting mortality, dealing with end of life and excepting that what you thought your life once was and you hoped should be, is drastically altered.

But I'm 100% in and will hold my judgement, because as smart people know and understand, you can only judge a season/show AFTER you've seen in, not based on a 2 minute trailer.

The scenes set in the "past" apparently take place in Los Angeles, so the character is obviously just an older Dutch Wagenbach!

I'm kind of negative on this. Hopefully the way things unfold will make sense. I mean why would Q change something and make them go back to unchange it? I am mainly expecting they will make it seem like an interesting mystery only to have it fall flat.

I wouldn't be surprised if Picard will make some sort of statement, forgetting who exactly [and what] Q is, and he'll alter reality to punish his hubris.

Picard: The Federation is a force for good in this world, Q, and not even YOU can change that.

Honestly, I'd be all in if instead of a serious dark story, it's just basically an adaptation of Scalzi's Redshirts.
