New to Who

Well that was another emotional roller coaster! But really, I should have known better. Caffrey you sly little devil:)

Starting on the classic stuff tomorrow. I expect to see lots of the round things!

Update: It's slim pickings for classic stuff. Suggestions?

Here's what episodes are listed.

The Three Doctors
The Ark In Space
Pyramids Of Mars
The City Of Death
Season 10 ep 1-4
Season 13 ep 1-4
City of Death for sure, I think it would really appeal to a new series fan.

Try poking around on Dailymotion. There are some playlists that have a good selection of Classic Who. One called Zarbi Overlord has nearly every Hartnell and Troughton (that includes recons).

It's a little late for that. I'm already tainted.

I could try Dailymotion. It's one of the few video streaming sites that doesn't give my computer a virus.

Pyramids of Mars is my favorite story ever. There is some stuff where backstory adds to it, but it works very well on its own.

Are you trying to coerce this bright young lady into elicit criminal behaviour?
I don't think you can find anything on Doctor on Dailymotion that you can't find on Youtube. BBC shuts down stuff damned quick that they don't want available, and the eps have been there for years, so, nothing illicit about it

"City of Death" was their highest ratings show.

Fourth Doctor era (Tom Baker) with Romana (II). Under the pen of Douglas Adams.

"City of Death" isn't bad. But IMO, the show is on the downhill by that point. It is an entertaining episode, competently written, and since it is their first shoot off the island it has plenty of LOOK PEOPLE! WE'RE IN PARIS!!!! footage. But part of the reason it had the highest ratings is there was a strike that hurt their competition but they somehow weren't effected by.

So the whole "episodes within a serial" went completely over my head. I watched An Unearthly Child and then spent 5 mins trying to find an episode called The Daleks only to realize that The Daleks was the serial name and the actual episode is The Dead Planet. So I'll probably watch The Survivors because that's the one where the Daleks fully appear. How do I navigate through the rest? I know a few of you gave me lists but those seem to be serial titles, not episodes.

First impressions. Wow. It's more black and white than any other film/TV thing I've seen, and super grainy! Hard to see what's going on at times.

This should work https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Doctor_Who_serials#First_Doctor
I belive the DVDs look much better then whats out their on the web.

From "The War Machines" on, they don't have separate titles. It is "The War Machines, Part 1," "The War Machines, Part 2"....
