New To Voyager

Before And After was such a weird episode. I can understand Kes and Tom together but their daughter and Harry? That was almost as insane as the Janeway/Tom lizard loving!

It was pretty creepy. Imagine marrying someone that you babysat as a baby only a couple years ago.

By his fourth birthday, Kathryn would have been the only age appropriate woman on the ship for Andrew as he exits middle age.

Ocampan's have a single slither of fertility during their third year.

There's the circle of life thing going on that Harry will, if that Universe had continued, eventually be changing adult diapers on his geriatric Ocampan wife.

I totally agree that the episode was weird. In some cases almost too weird for my taste.

But I still love it! Definitely one of my top 10 episodes.

Some interesting "what would have happened if...." in it. I don't think I would have liked that timeline instead of the one we got, I mean Janeway and Torres killed off, Kim dating Tom's and Kes's daughter  . No, not that!

But still a very interesting and well-written episode.

Not to mention the old debate about The Doctor's name. Doctor Van Gogh! Now that's another option! :)

Rain Robinson was on Masters of Sex last week (I'm watching it now) where she was put into a position that required swearing, yet the script forced the lady to yelp "RASPBERRIES!"

(Sarah is dating/in a relationship with the lead in real life.)

But it's odd to see Rain in full 1950s period costume.

Okay so I've now watched up to The Raven. The arrival of Seven of Nine aside, S4 seems to be a huge improvement over previous seasons. The storylines seem more interesting and characters that I didn't really care for (B'Elanna) I'm starting to like.

In S1-3 I found her to be very cold but now... I don't know if it's her relationship with Tom (whom I've always liked) that has made the difference but she has softened a bit.

When I read how tv actors are usually referred to on set by their own name or nickname, it seemed strange to me. In college theatre, the directors always referred to us by the character's name, not our own.
One year when I was working in the theatre, there were FIVE of us with the same name. The director got tired of having five people answer when she called one of us, so the two in the cast were referred to by their characters, the two on the stage crew (the crew head and one of the hands) were referred to by their positions, and when I was wanted, the director would bellow, "PROPS!"

"The video you requested is not available for your geographic region."

I resent other people not appreciating the free stuff that is bestowed upon them.
Yep. Considering we in Canada are subjected to American ads and pay extra to watch some American networks, the least they could do is let us watch the same stuff online as the Americans get to.

I can never get the Remove Text Formatting to work right for me, so I do it the hard way. I do multiple quotes in a post the hard way too, because I can't figure out the multi-quote function.

And polls? Can't do them either.
Polls take practice. Multiquote is easy, but it helps to preview your post before submitting it. Remember that if you have an open tag, you need the corresponding closing tag so it comes out right.

Now that you mention it Ocampans don't have much time to do anything else but breed quick and die..
Like those little rodents kids have as pets...

I have a perfume called The Raven which I put on every time I watch The Raven. So very fangirl.

Neelix has an Ocampan lung inside him that is going to putter out in just 5 years.

Tuvix might live for another 2 hundred years.

It's almost like murdering Neelix to extract all the Vulcan DNA out of his body.
You have a point with Neelix, without the doctor and his miracles, he may not live very long with that one rapidly aging lung.

It's funny though, with only one lung, Neelix should be handicapped, for instance it would have been very unlikely of him to disarm that guard so nimbly in Homestead. I know people with reduced lung capacity. They can hardly make a physical effort before they are out of breath.

I was reading yesterday, the mention of just the one lung in Kes in Before and After, where she was blowing out the candles on her birthday cake... If Neelix was dying in a bio bed 5 feet from Kes' biotemporal chamber, well it seems that the camera did not pan in that direction.
