New to Entourage

So I've started watching Entourage, mainly based on all the praise it gets here. I'm now starting the last ep of the first season so I've seen seven episodes.

Personally I really don't get the appeal of this show. Like the Sopranos there isn't a single sympathetic character in the entire bunch. They're all a bunch of skeezy douchebags. Why am I supposed to care about these people?

I also heard it was supposed to be hilarious, but I've only laughed a couple times so far.

Also I heard about how brilliant Jeremy Piven is in it, but he's just kinda there, and only appears for like 5 minutes in any episode. What am I missing here?

We bought the first three seasons on a sale so I'll end up watching those. Is the Aquaman bit in those seasons? That's the OTHER reason I'm interested it!

I wasn't a big fan of the 1st season myself, it was alright but I didn't really get the hype...Give the 2nd season a try, I found it to be much more enjoyable. It really kicks into high gear, a lot more laughs.

I like the first season and I love the second season. But it's been going downhill since somewhere during the third season and after seeing the fifth season finale, I gave up completely on the show. I kinda wished it did ended after the second season.

I started watching it back in March thanks to Much More Music who has it on every night and replays the week's episodes on the weekend in Marathon format and it's an awesome series. I'm not that big of a fan of Season One but once Vince starts doing Aquaman the series takes off. My favourite character is indeed Ari Gold...Jeremey Piven steals scenes in this show! So far I've watched up to where Vince decides to fire Ari...not sure what season that takes place in.

I've thought about adding this show to my netflix queue. Apparently our president is a fan of the show, and I have talked to people who like it as well. Still, I'm on the fence. What is so good about it? Do I really want to trudge through the first season?

That's part of the point.
Many in the mass public think of celebs as these perfect people that don't think like Joe-Average but they do. Thanks to a good agent like Ari, Vinny Chase is a douche but the public thinks he walks on water.

It's a look behind the camera of the real life of a Hollywood celeb.
What makes the show good is not only the vulgar dialog but the irony of it all. It shows it doesn't take talent but rather a good agent to be a star.
