New Star Trek Series based on Mr. Worf

Why can't it be Star Trek: Captain Worf? Because that's what everyone's probably going to call it.

As far as Frakes goes, he looks pretty old so I don't think he'd be captain. I would like, in a hypothetical Captain Worf series, Admiral Riker be a recurring character, in the same vein that Nechayev was. I don't think you couldn't have TNG and DS9 characters reappear.

Admiral Riker I wouldn't mind seeing. He could be like Admiral Ross or Admiral Forrest.
Or recast the role and have it be Will Riker the year Nenesis took place, a few months after he first assumed command of the Titan.

Do like they did with Picard and hire a actor who is a decade younger than the character. Talented (but affordable), maybe trim the beard into something less full.

:)

Some singers have good blending voices. They sound great singing harmony. But when they sing lead, it's just not good.

Some characters are best in a supporting role. They don't quite work as leads. I love Worf and Sulu, but I don't think I could bear an entire series featuring either of them as captain. Obviously Takei is too old for a captain role now, but that was my thought back when he was putting that idea out there.

I could have seen Riker as captain in a spinoff series back in the day. I think he's about the only non-captain character in all of Trek who I could have seen in the captain's chair for an entire series.

I think I'd like a series with Riker, after a distinguished career as a captain, is a Rear Admiral and commanding an important Starbase ala Vanguard. Only problem with this is that it might be too much like DS9.

Apparently the Captain Worf proposal has been nixed in favor of Worf, M.D.

A better idea. How about just a new series about the latest Enterprise crew 20 years after the finale of TNG. By then, it would be completely different characters obviously. The TNG crew would have moved on...Worf would be an ambassador, Riker would be an admiral, etc.

No thanks. Technology had run amok by the end of Voyager.

It would carry out the original theme of the show because they would be on totally new ground again. Another prequel would probably just make a mess of things.

There will be a day where a TV show will make an Admiral's job look interesting, but for now all the cool stuff in Trek happens at the Captain's level.

Make a mess of what? People hang onto the timeline thinking it is something important when, in fact, it became a noose for the franchise. Wherever the franchise goes next, they need to tell good stories. They need to concentrate on entertaining their audience.

Nah, Picard's still in charge on the E. Geordi is still his engineer (turned down a captain's post). Worf is his first officer. Crusher went to replace Bashir on DS9, Riker is Admiral but uses the Titan as his pleasure yacht with Troi. Data runs a casino on Orion.

Runs a casino? That doesn't sound like it's making the best use of his extraordinary abilities. Why would he do such a thing?

Fund his exploits. Now he's out of starfleet if he wants to galavant across the galaxy he needs an income. And he needs to keep himself and Lal protected of course.

Makes sense. In the Star Trek world, you can't make money off of useful and noble pursuits. Ferengi nonsense is the only remaining profit opportunity.
