New Star Trek Into Darkness Teaser!

To be fair, the self-righteous Trek Purists are taking their cue from Captain Janeway:

"There are three things to remember about being a starship captain: keep your shirt tucked in, go down with the ship, and never abandon a member of your crew."
- Kathryn Janeway to Naomi Wildman, 2375 ("Dark Frontier")

Obviously nuKirk and Abrams are refusing to comply.

I don't think women need men to tell them what they should find sexy or sexist:lol:. Star Trek was much more PC with TNG.
I could not stand sexist TNG episodes like Deja Q. Getting Q undressed served no plot purpose whatsoever. Let's be honest, the gratuitous nudity was there only to objectify men.

Immortal again! Omnippletant again!

And when THOR was swingin that hammer shirtless, you squeed with horror having to witness Hemsworth abs and biceps rippling in front of you.

God Lord and Holy Jeebus y'all. Sex sells. I enjoy the human form when it doesn't look like Ron Jeremy. Love God's creation.

Alice has great tits. :guffaw:

I like breasts, I think they're fun and nice to look at, and the opinion according to which a movie would be tainted by the addition of breasts is one I find mind-boggling. Which really, is a moot point, considering that there are no breasts in Star Trek or in Star Trek Into Darkness.

I like breasts more than I like explosions, but again, that's not really relevant, considering that explosions have been part of Star Trek from the beginning.
...uuummmm...
so have Breasts...

Apparently there is a heavily edited version of Star Trek that has no sex or violence in it. Mostly it's the characters sitting and thinking or giving moralistic speeches. More room for commercials I guess.
Hmmmm, that sounds like a number of TNG episodes...hey, I love TNG but sometimes they did too much navel gazing.

Your sarcastic post is right. Thats all that old lame trek was, it had absolutle nothing good about it. It survived for over 40 years because nerds suck. All the compelling stories and good characters was holding it back. Real trek needs

-Absolutely no story outside of a reason for special effects or lensflares. We wouldn't want to teel a good story. Thats for nerds.
-No dialog that isn't a sexual reference, quip, or brainless exposition
-Horrible Actors who make the characters into unlikeable jackasses with no redeeming qualities
-SEX SEX SEX! Because if it doesn't have boobs every few minutes, its not "mature". Adults need boobs to be entertained, and lots of sex. Nothing compelling has ever been made when you keep the shirts on the women. A movie without boobs isn't a real movie :techman:
-Explosions, because the only thing better than boobs are explosions.

Bryan Burk agrees. He said while he was in Australia that he thought of Trek as a bunch of people standing around on the bridge and talking, and so went out to make a film that "I would like"/

Have the reboot haters ever watched Star Trek?

I wonder what they think of the decon chamber scenes in Enterprise... Which heavily featured in the adverts before it aired.

Then there are the constant stream of beautiful women cast in Trek in revealing outfits since the 60s thanks mostly to Roddenberry ?

It's all been done before... Action/sex/adventure/women everything.

Well, the decon chamber bits were not particularly well-received and TOS is quite sexist in many ways in a modern context.

Things may have happened in Trek before, but that doesn't necessarily make them an example to follow.

Having said that, if I dislike this film (I very much disliked the last one - and for the record, I have seen every episode of Trek outside of a handful of TOS season 3 and the end of DS9 season 2, which I'm watching now), it won't be because of a few seconds of a woman in her underwear. I could not care less.

It's really unfortunate that Captain Robau is dead. Were he alive, the trailer would be different.

SHERLOCK: I'm better.
ROBAU: Better at what?
SHERLOCK: Everything.
ROBAU: I can prove you wrong.

Just so happens Captain Robau had a son who grew up to become another Captain Robau and he looks and is exactly like his Dad.

It's missing the Alice Eve tit shot, but otherwise pretty much the same.

Perhaps Abrams and his fellow producers noted this trend toward sex & women in Star Trek and have continued it? How do you reboot TOS without including the miniskirts and beautiful women? It is so in your face in TOS and these new movies are simply a reboot of TOS not the spinoffs. We have no idea of the context of the scene in the trailer because its a trailer.
