New Star Trek $1.99 eBook Deals!

Whoa. I sorted Amazon.com "Star Trek" Kindle search by price and got a TON of random books at $3.99.

Several of the omnibuses listed, a couple signature reprints (the ST II - IV novelizations, Imzadi) as well as - weirdly - TOS: Burning Dreams and TNG: A Fury Scorned.

Damn, I've been wanting the II-IV novelization omnibus, but I really don't want to buy any more books.

How bizarre...

Enterprise Logs, Kindle Edition... $13.48
Prophecy and Change, Kindle Edition... $17.97
Bloodwing Voyages, Kindle Edition... $15.31

(I actually took screenshots from Amazon.com for each of these, but Photobucket is being a jerk and I can't upload them at the moment.)

Do I sense IP-address-based shenanigans?

I want a $4 Bloodwing Voyages! :scream:

Hm... Well, I just got Bloodwing Voyages a couple days ago for 3.99. And I see Enterprise Logs for 3.99, along with a few other anthologies. Including Prophecy and Change.

^ Yeah, I'm guessing it's a US-only sale, and Amazon is showing me those prices based on my IP address. It knows I'm visiting from Canada, because every time I go there it gives me that pop-up, "Hey, visiting from Canada? You sure I can't just redirect you back to Amazon.ca?" Thanks, Amazon, I know how to get to Amazon.ca if that's where I really wanted to go. :)

Really too bad we can't get these deals, too... there are a few I would have bought. Hopefully the monthly $1.99 deals continue to be available in both countries.

Totes jealous!

I tried Googling this:

And I'm getting conflicting answers. Some sources seem to say Nook uses ePub, but some are saying it's proprietary.

Does anyone know... now that Trek eBooks are DRM free, can I convert & load a Nook book to my Kobo through calibre, without breaking any laws?

You don't have to convert. A nook book without DRM is just a plain old ePub eBook which Kobo can handle as is.

Well maybe there will be a sale on amazon.ca at some point.... that no one else can see.

Great! Not a Voyager fan really, but at that price it's tempting...

The deals should be in effect for all of June, so for 99p, try out Full Circle... as long as you finish it in June, if you like it, you can grab the rest before the sale ends! :)

So just to give closure on this... I tried to buy Bloodwing Voyages from B&N, but my credit card wouldn't process. So I tried looking through the help section. Apparently, even though I bought a few SCE books from them back in the Microsoft Reader days (ugh, remember that? :ack:), now you need to have a valid US mailing address to purchase Nook books from them. So I guess my $4 Bloodwing Voyages isn't happening! :scream:

Forgive me if this has been asked before. I am starting to read Trek books again after a 3 year hiatus, so i've been out of the loop. ;)
Are there any plans to release print copies of some of the ebook exclusive titles? I'm not holding out much hope for sings & arrows since it is nearly 10 years old, but i'd love to have a print copy of the New Frontier: The Returned ebooks.

I don't think so.

On Amazon, they've rotated out the $3.99 sale titles with different $3.99 Trek ebooks. I saw the Mere Anarchy omnibus and a few SCE omnibus editions for that price.

I'm totally holding out hope for Slings & Arrows, because I haven't bought it yet in e-format... those current prices are ridiculous! ;)
Yeah, the prices sometimes don't make sense. Amazon.ca has the Kindle has Vanguard Open Secrets for $19.99. So weird.
