New Spider-Man cartoon: Ultimate Spider-Man

Damn, I really wish I got Disney XD. Over half of the animated series that I'm interested in, both old and new, are airing on Disney XD.
 
The only other TV appearance I could find for Iron Fist on wikipedia is The Super Hero Squad Show. Does that mean this will be the first serious TV version of the character?

From the clips I've seen of Ultimate Spider-Man, it's not entirely serious itself, and has some rather cartoony elements. But yeah, it does seem that IF is a character that's been largely unadapted for television. Interesting that this show is bringing in characters we haven't seen on TV before, like Iron Fist and White Tiger.
 
Can't have Iron Fist without his best buddy Power Man :) At the very least this show will be interesting.

Nova not Richard Rider but still young and brash anyway=Fail

Just use the standard torch bearer of the title for his first big exposure in another medium.
 
They stated they didn't use Richard because of his death in the comics (we know a Nova is returning to warn about Phoenix but we don't know who the Nova is yet) and wanted to respect that. I don't mind they didn't use Richard, I just find it bizarre that a Nova is being trained by Shield.
 
The fact Richard is dead is their excuse. One I find hollow. Richard will be alive eventually.
Yes, I find it odd a Nova Corp member is being trained by SHIELD also but I'd sooner overlook/accept that than them not using Richard.
 
I disagree...doesn't matter which Nova they use...the very fact that they even considered using one at all in a Spider-Man cartoon is bizarre (I mean in the main cast of characters, I'd understand for guest star purposes). I mean, Nova I don't think has even been addressed in the Ultimate Universe at all I don't think. Just a very weird character to be using in this type of series (even if there are going to be galactic threats) you might as well use Johnny Storm since he was incorporated into Peter's cast.
 
Well Nova is himself an admitted creation meant to honor and be an homage to Spiderman. That in and of itself seems as good a reason as any regardless of non-appearance in the Ultimates line.
 
Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Nova fan (especially of Richard Rider) I just don't get this particular character choice.

Not killed off, just locked himself and Star Lord in another dimension to keep Thanos contained.
