The show looks promising but then again traillers can make the worst shows/Films look good.

The more and more we see of this show, the more convinced I am there is nothing compelling about it. I don't need another Voyager. I don't see how the Stargate team is going to make this premise interesting when they ran SG-1 into the ground and and gave up on Atlantis because they had no idea what to do with the situation.

I'm think I'm going to give the show a shot or two, but from what I've seen... It doesn't look like Universe is going to be worth my time.

I don't know--this trailer isn't very compelling. But that's mostly due to the strange music choice. I'll chalk it up to another SyFy Channel marketing frak up and wait for the premiere.

Trailers tell us nothing. Anything can be made to look good in a trailer.

Is this going to be the same crew of producers and writers? How much new blood will be involved, who are they, and how much influence might they have? I've only heard about one guy, and he's just a "consultant" or something.

The only hope for this series is some new people with new ideas and the guts to really pursue them. Ideally, there needs to be a new person in charge who can take over and make the radical changes that are needed. Like Bryan Fuller with Heroes.

Anyone who has directed The Wire is extremely capable. That has me excited. Still wondering about the writers, though, since the credits for the first ten episodes don't show much new blood.

Definitely agree - if there's something the Stargate franchise lacks, it's an inability to let things end. Characters are never dead or finished with, formally excellent guest stars outstay their welcome, and series never end. They need to learn how to finish something and then let it go.
