Be VERY VERY CAREFUL about making that sort of statement. Because several folks on here can say conclusively that you're mistaken.thumbtack said:

Well, looking at this from the standpoint of someone who has enough shares of PPC stock to make it a FINANCIAL concern of mine...
Not all us stockholders agree.
There is no such thing as Paramount Pictures Stock. As a teeny, tiny subsidiary of Viacom, any one Paramount movie would have to gross at least 7.5 billion worldwide to have any impact on Viacom's share price.
We need better liars on these boards.
It's not uncommon, at all, for there to be independent stock for different subsidiary companies. In fact, it's the rule, rather than the exception.
When mergers, acquisitions, etc, take place, the existing stock isn't "replaced" (though it's often revaluated). If Viacom sells off PPC next year, I'll still own my stock... if Time Warner, or Google, or whoever else, bought it... I'd still own Paramount stock. In this case, it just happens that Viacom owns the majority of the stock, which (in turn) is owned by Viacom stockholders.
Some of the folks here may well own Viacom stock. I have certificates that make no mention of Viacom, though.
Again, be VERY VERY CAREFUL about calling people LIARS... especially when you're talking out of your own ass.
