I always thought the Berman-era Klingons looked like Heavy-Metal hair band rejects.
Or a remake of General Urko from the short-lived 1970s PLANET OF THE APES television show.

Calling the bumpy-forehead Klingons which came along in 1979 "new" is funny. I thought this was about their new look in Into Darkness (which I thought was a fantastic movie, btw)

This is one of the new Klingons unmasked, minus the piercing blue eyes which were added in post-production.
And here is Klingon evolution:

Tos Klingons were Russians...
Not quite buying that....and the romulans were Chinese.
Actually, Moore got the idea for an honor-bound society from reading a TOS novel about the Klingons, "The Final Reflection," which is probably the best ST novel ever written. It was Ron Moore who made the klingons into some pseudo-samurai in TNG.
And yet Worf evolved just fine. The show wasn't about the Klingons, it was about the Enterprise crew.Berman, lacking the talent to really evolve them, just kept the formula that worked.
It makes me wonder how they got into space in the first place!
When I reimagined the Klingons I look the best of the look they had in TSFS and mixed with the best of what TOS had to offer. You can get an idea from my member avatar. I definitely did away with the whole savage space viking thing. Click the Klingon propaganda link in my sig to see the entire animation.
Heh - they slew the space gods and stole their chariots. It makes me wonder how they got into space in the first place!
Violently.![]()
Indeed, i've always wished we could have had Klingons that were more and more influenced by Feudal Japanese society, or more of a Seven Samurai vibe to Klingon culture. More room for variety and character. I'm not too much of a fan of what came later "WARRIORS!!!! HONOAHHHH!!! RARRGH ARAGHHH! EVERYTHING WE EAT IS MADE WITH BLOOD AND WE HAVE ANGER AND WE WANNA FIIIIIGHT!"It's not really intimidating, so much as it's hysterical. It makes me wonder how they got into space in the first place!

Eh? They're an army of clones. Which means someone cloned them. Someone who could facilitate their means to travel through space.Same way Dr Who's even sillier aliens like the Sontarans got into space.
