New Movie used to demonstrate Apple iPad

For those who haven't been to http://www.apple.com/ipad/ yet, it's Apple's new Tablet machine. Basically a really big iPod Touch + productivity software & eReader w/optional 3G.

What's Star Trek XI related is that in both the Apple Event and on the Apple website, Star Trek (2009) is the movie used to demonstrate it's movie-display abilities:

bear in mind, the 64g 3G version is selling for $800+

As "OMG THAT'S FRAKING COOL" as this device is, I just can't justify the money when I already have several devices that do the same thing.

Yeah, it's not a tablet pc at all. It's not a computer, it is an oversized iPod Touch with some extra programming. It would be cool to have one around the house if you could easily access and sync it with your computer, and stuff, like a PADD from Star Trek I guess... but not for $829. There is absolutely no way I could justify spending more on that than I will be on my souped up gaming laptop I've got on the way, if I can't do more with it.

It's nice of them to give Trek a nod but, as with all Ipod crap, I'll be passing on this as well.
