New Info! (Bad Robot press event/villain ID'd, etc.) *SPOILERS*

Carol Marcus being in Starfleet, and on the Enterprise, is another one of those silly small universe syndrome ideas.
In the Prime universe, it's highly unlikely. She and her whole group were shown to be civilian scientists, and her son had a hatred against anything Starfleet (which certainly would have played out differently when "she was one of them once").

Not necesarily. Even if we assume Prime Carol Marcus was once in Starfleet, we don't know the circumstances for why she left. She could have left under less than pleasnt circumstances and her bitterness towards Starfleet could have rubbed off on David causing him to actively hate Starfleet.

And besides, we don't know that Carol is assigned to the Enterprise, or if she is brought on board as a specialist or something for one mission.

Kirk and Marcus meet in both realities. Kirk is in Starfleet. It is reasonable to assume that perhaps Marcus worked for Starfleet at some point. There has to be a reason they would meet and have enough time to get to know each other.

Well, in the Prime Universe, it's canon fact that Gary Mitchell hooked Kirk up with Carol Marcus.

What? Who else could the blonde lab technician that Kirk nearly married be?

Yeah, it was never said on-screen that Gary hooked Kirk up with a blonde lab technician named Carol Marcus, but lots of fans over the years have made the connection between the two due to Carol's hair color and the fact that she and Kirk were romantically involved around the same time the future captain and Mitchell were ganging up for their shenanigans and exploits.

I've assumed for a long, long time that the blonde lab technician was Carol, but for the record no episode or film ever explicitly stated it.

Re: New Info! *SPOILERS*

Hey, anyone notice that Gary Mitchell has the same number of letters in each name as John Harrison?

Hmmm....first name of one Beatle and the last name of another, and both of them dead? That can't be coincidence. :shifty:

(*listens to backward tracks on the White Album*)

AND he is in a film with the last name of ANOTHER Beatle in the title!!!!

This can't be coincidence. There has to be a higher, more complex reason for all of this.

Oh, no! It can only mean....

22 years of watching Star Trek and I never noticed John Harrison. I don't even remember the name or anything about him. I don't even know what he looked like in TOS.

Some fan I turned out to be. I need to live less of a life.

Dr Janet Wallace ("The Deadly Years"), who was originally the character that was going to be revealed as the mother of Dr David Wallace in ST II - until it was realised that Kirk and Janet would have been cheating on Janet's husband, Theodore, at the time. So Dr Carol Marcus was created.

And then, there's blonde Ruth:

Not sure if this was a typo or if anyone missed it, by why did they spell it Qu’noS? That's not right.

Edit: Page three has the question as well

That's a typo the guy who wrote the TrekMovie article made.
In other news pages I've seen it spelled right as Qo'noS.
