News New Game - Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown

I noticed the transporter and Voyager's weapon sounds are now from the show.

Though for some reason they layered the show transporter sound on top of the transporter sound they already had.

Warp sound FX still isn't from the show however. But considering what they've done so far, maybe that will be changed by release.
The transporter sound effect sounds more like the one from TNG to my ears (mixed with the previous effect they had, as you say).

Played the demo of this last night. Not bad, if not a bit Fallout Shelter-y.

Decided to be a proper dick and use the array to get home, arrest the Maquis, tell Harry Kim to remember his place and make no promises to Tom about going back to his penal colony.

Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown will feature fully voiced logs by Tuvok and Tom Paris at the start of each sector. It was important to us to bring back the original actors in a way that felt meaningful. These logs recap recent events and set the stage for the mission ahead. The characters are voiced by their original actors, Tim Russ and Robert Duncan McNeill.”

Looking at most of the updates so far, I'm mildly concerned at the on-screen text. As a console gamer, I'm betting most of the text will be next to impossible to read on a TV at a reasonable distance.

Missing music never bothered me, because like 95% of Trek games have never had official music.

Sometimes they'd use the first few notes of the TOS theme, but that's about it.

Having played Elite Force (before they swapped-in Jeri Ryan) and DS9 The Fallen (that ain't Captain Sisko) I certainly live with either no voices or replacements but I prefer the real deal of course.

Looks like they’ve replaced the character portraits with 2D art instead of just renders of the character models

Although weirdly, the Janeway one seems to be just a standard promo photo?
It has either been redrawn or put through a filter.

Harry's portrait I also recognize as being made from a promo shot

Why are these textures so large when the portraits are so small on screen lmao

I think I prefer the original portraits that used their 3D models, some of them werent 100% accurate but at least they were something new.

Wonder who “Commander McGuiness” is, who appears briefly as first officer in the last clip there. I thought at first it was old man Chakotay from Scientific Method!
