New Futurama on DVD?

Osiris Aten

Does anyone know if the Comedy Central seasons of Futurama will be coming in dvd format and when? Thanks.

I refuse to answer this question because you're just lazy. Look it up on wikipedia, amazon or google.

:techman:

The are never coming out. In an odd twist the TV show wasn't canceled, but they canceled the dvds of the seasons.

Every single episode made so far has already been released on DVD.

So go buy them. :)

I know the general idea behind remastering for blu-ray (using original film prints). But can the original Futurama episodes be "remastered"?

No.

Was the original run even in widescreen? I think it's fullscreen, that would be the biggest problem. They aren't going to go back and redraw the sides.

What I don't get is why two of the movies are on blu-ray and two are not. You would think all of them would or all of them wouldn't be.

Futurama was already filmed in ultra-omni HD which is so high res that it looks low res because your eyes can't handle it.

No, but how is that a problem? HD is about resolution not aspect ratio.

I know if I watch the original DVD's stretched to fit my widescreen, obviously it's stretched out, but it looks good. No pixelation.

But there's not going to be any extra "width" to the scenes the way some other live stuff might have if it was cropped to be 4:3.

What is films natural aspect ration anyway?

I checked on amazon.com and they only had instant video, which is only online viewing. Thus, I was not being lazy when I asked: usually someone on here knows about dvd releases and I was hoping they were available on dvd, but apparently not. No need to be rude.

Good riddance, you're unable to properly search on amazon, you don't check wikipedia and what's worst, you're not even bothering to read the thread you created yourself which had one page when you posted for the second time.

I just ordered volume 7, which just came out, so...
