Don't forget the flames and smoke that shoots out of the back when they go to warp. I understand ILM is going for classic "Flash Gordon" motif.

The article implies that.
I can just visulize the ship being confronted by enemy vessels and suddenly going up by rotating the exhaust nacceles,confounding the enemy.Then rotating the nozzles again and taking the enemy from behind.



I noticed they never used 3-d in the films.All the battles were 2-d.This could be a retrospective correction by Abraham.Except in ST2 when Spock had to pint it out.

No he hasn't. It's very obvious that any "rotating" is referring to the rotating caps on the front. They are unlikely to totally redesign one of the most iconic and enduring images in TV history beyond a TMP-style refit.

When we're all proved right and you and your friend wrong, can we have apologies too?

Each nacelle should have two nacelles of its own... and each of them should have two nacelles... and so on and so on until it becomes an Escher-esque fractal nightmare that makes one's head explode in incomprehension.
