Bill doesn't look like a Nark.
No... She doesn't look annoying at all, does she?
Bill doesn't look like a Nark.
If she is from the 80s I don't see the point, but that might be because the 80s doesn't seem that long ago for me, for the average 8 year old it'll probably feel like Victorian times![]()
Actress is 28.
Adult education, night class?
I kind of doubt that myself. I think she'll be around for at least two, especially if Capaldi leaves with Moffat, in which she'll then transition with the next Doctor. My impression of "the new girl" so far is some kind of mix of Rose and Martha (or Donna) for some reason. And am I the only one who gets a "one series only companion" vibe?
I suspect she's probably only contracted for one season with an option to do a second. Whether she returns for another season likely depends on a variety of factors, does she want to return? Does Chibnall want a returning companion or does he want to start with a blank slate? Likely other things as well.
Moffat is, by nature, a sitcom writer. He can't help it.
I hope she is from the 80s, at least that would be vaguely different from a fully contemporary companion.
But anyway, I was thinking, it would be interesting if Bill starts out as cheerful and flippant, but after coming face to face with the Daleks and other aliens comes out changed. More cynical and what not. Maybe at the end of her tenure she'd even wonder if she was really a better person for the adventures, or worse.
Have to say the best bit about that clip was Capaldi.
Or maybe Chibnall will add a second companion and phase Bill out bit by bit? I always liked the dynamics whenever there were two or more companions.
Agreed. My favorite eras, companion-wise, are almost all multi-companion eras: Ian, Barbara, & Susan/Vicki; Jamie & Zoe; Sarah Jane & Harry; Amy & Rory (with bonus points whenever they added River).
^ Yeah, but Sexy rarely got any good lines.
