New castle matte for "Requiem for Methuselah"

i really love this.
it takes care of not only creating something new that makes more sense then what was used previously but it fits as something that flint would have had built.
notice the blend of different earth time periods and cultures in the architecture.

Further thoughts on this point:

However, not to add a fly to the ointment, & I'm sure you all will correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like a twilight setting, & if so, the moons show lighting in the wrong direction. All the shadows on the buildings coordinate correctly with the moons, but the horizon lighting looks like the sun is setting behind the mountains to the right.

I don't think this is really the case. I think the lighting in the sky simply reflects the way the scattered light from the sky looks brighter toward the horizon than it does toward the zenith, because you're looking through a greater amount of atmosphere, seeing more air molecules that are getting sunlight bounced off them. Indeed, given that the planet looked violet-tinged from orbit, that suggests some kind of particulates in the air that scatter light of that hue, and if those particulates tend to be relatively low in the atmosphere, that could add to the effect of the sky seeming brighter near the horizon. (Maybe the particulates are the means Flint uses to obscure sensor readings of the planet and make it appear lifeless.)

Plus, it's believable he could build something like this in the thirty-year time frame since he purchased the planet under the "Brack" alias. A little help from some passing cargo and supply ships every few years and voila...a palatial little residence.

^^For a second there I thought you'd written "under the 'Barack' alias." Man, that would've been a good disguise! :D
