We've seen him in the Academy uniform and the black "casual" attire, but are we going to see him in 'Command Gold'?

I really wanna see pictures of some of the other actors. Mainly, Simon Pegg. We've only seen one picture with him in it

Why change his eye color? It doesn't matter one whit what eye color the last actor to play the role had.

oh lordy...

Just because it would have been a nice little nod to those of US that do care about things like this and certainly would not have harmed anybody or the movie, if they had.

I don't expect you to care... "...one whit...", and it probably wasn't really necessary to be so harsh (IMHO) with your opinion.

We are all well aware where you stand on things like this.

It's getting exceedingly tiresome that you have to be the first to jump in and express your opinion in a manner that comes across, like those of Us that do care, are in some way, shape or form, lesser for doing so.

goodness gracious...

OT... I really like the little emblem on his collar.

yeah but it would have been a bit superfluous. it wouldn't have been making pine more like kirk. it would have just been making pine more like shatner.

pine is not shatner. he's not gonna deliver his lines like shatner. let the actor be his own man and make his own kirk. TPTB have done far more substantial changes with makeup and prosthetics on characters and alien races. we're all familiar with spock's evolving ears, worf's forehead ridges, bizarre decision to make romulans another forehead alien. besides, did saavik get a facelift in between 2 and 3?

i dunno. i certainly respect purists, whatever that term means, but i say let pine be kirk just like shatner was kirk. kirk's a character. now he's pine's character. i wish him well and hope he makes kirk as compelling as did shatner.

Thank you for at least expressing your opinion in a manner that at the very least, doesn't sound like a put-down to the few of Us that care about the little details.

I'm not saying that the eye thing is a deal breaker, I just think it would have been another nice unimportant gesture from TPTB.

The only thing I'd say about your included reference pic, is that there's another Nimoy tome that expresses the complete opposite idea...

And a change of eye color, come to think of it. (Kirstie Alley's were blue, but Robin Curtis' brown.)

It also could be, even if a hazel-eyed Kirk was part of the original plan, that Pine couldn't tolerate the contacts. Whatever the case may be, past a certain point, matching the eye color and physical characteristics of the original or most recent actor to play the part just isn't very high on my list of priorities. Get the character right, and all of the other details will fall into line; if you don't get the character right, none of the rest will matter.
