New behind the scenes footage! (esurance's site and contest)

Re: New behind the scenes footage!

I haven’t been able to explore the site thoroughly yet, but some of the still shots that I have seen are pretty cool. When you start to see the behind the scenes imagery one can really start to get a sense of how much work went into making the movie.

Which gives me great hope. They put a lot of effort into it, all phases of it.
doesn't mean it has to be great, but most of the disappointments I have seen lately at the theaters are due to rushed schedules and taking shortcuts.

(see X-Men 3)

Re: New behind the scenes footage!

I live in Schenectady....

Most people can't say or spell it... never mind find it.

My Trek stuff is probably very safe...;)

I hear much of the budget has gone to hiring Santa to help with the old Trek stuff disposal.
So if Santa can find you on Christmas, Abrams will get to your house eventually.

Santa hasn't found me since I was about 9.

(this place ha been outside the normal stream of time for several decades now!)

('sides I have no chimney):p

I'm still sure I'm gonna have Pre-Abrams TOS knowledge on the 9th of May.

You live in Skinnyectomy, NY, and you have no chimney? What do you do for heat if the power goes out?

Time travel is a great thing. If done right you won't even know you were never born.

I was extremely disappointed in X-Men 3. Especially how they wrote some of the characters.

My impression thus far on the making of XI, has been that all involved have put in a lot of effort to bring this film into fruition. As you mention, it doesn’t guarantee a great movie, but it does give me hope as well.

Re: New behind the scenes footage!

Hey, maybe this is old news, but at the end of the video when they are showing scenes from the trailer, there's the clip of some kind of statue falling, then a clip of some ship firing weapons, then a clip of what looks like a blond woman in white screaming, with Spock? standing behind her.

Never noticed that before. What's that all about?

Re: New behind the scenes footage!

I don't think that's Spock standing behind her, although if it is that makes the scene more interesting - as I believe that's Kirk's mom in labor.

I read that at first as, "Shatner hasn't found me since I was about 9"...

Oh god.

See, people can't Say Or Spell IT!!

My 2nd floor apt. is heated by a 50,000 btu, Magic Chef Vent-Free, Space Heater.
Most days I'm turning the damn thing way down or off cause between it, and the old lady who lives downstairs that runs her furnace at 80 degrees 24/7, it's like living in a Sauna!

Shatner hasn't found me since I got His autograph back in the early 80's. (in my twenties)

Which BTW, makes Him better than Santa! :p

That was actually in the trailer too.
The blond is Jennifer Morrison aka Kirk's mom and she's probably screaming because she's giving birth to little Jim.
I doubt that's Spock in there, most likely some doctor or nurse or something.

Credited as Starfleet Med Tech, I believe.

Re: ESurance Trek Movie Contest

Submitted my video yesterday and have been canvassing friends both online and offline as well as family for their vote. Mine is currently in second place. However, video ranking only constitutes 8% of the prize rubric so only time will tell if the odds are in my favor. Please visit the site, view all the submissions, and cast your votes!

Re: esurance sponsoring the new film Star Trek on its site

www.esurance.com

Featuring a behind the scene video with clips from the trailer. A lame -ass flash video game, and wall papers. maybe it will get better
We've got a couple of threads on this already, so I'll merge yours with the most recent one. Hang on...

Edit:

What the heck -- merging all three...

Re: Why isn't Erin Esurance in a miniskrt and gogo boots?

If anyone can rock that look, it's her. Thoughts?
I think I'll merge this with the other Esurance threads. It'll only take a sec.

Transport complete. Meanwhile, this isn't quite what you were suggesting, but it's fun anyway.
