Note the costume details! I made that thing myself, without any help from publicity stills ... no internet back then, you know. I made drawings and took notes in a movie theatre. This was in the dark ages before VCRs and DVDs. Plus the movie was still in the theaters at that point anyway.

In honor of a visit from my parents, we had a big family gathering at my house on Sept. 19. This is my in-law family (well, about 2/3 of it) and my parents having our traditional martini toast ... to whatever is convenient.My Dad is the one looking a little shell-shocked on the right end there. He's not used to drinking like my in-laws do.
But, they got the hang of it.

What I find amusing is, despite photographic evidence to the contrary, I wasn't a big Star Wars fan (and I *hated* Battlestar Galactica when it came along the next year). I just thought the costume looked fun, and I needed something to wear to the University of Maryland Star Trek club's Halloween party.TJ: Did you say "frak" a lot back then? Just askin'...
