It's the internet, stranger things have happened. I would ask Molly where she's posting from. Or simply ask if she's posting from the DC area (as that's where Squiggy lives).

Yes, Alexandria

no, I will not come meet anyone in person, you Trek people scare me

if any event this is resolved in my favor, I'd really like my MollyRoger name back

May I ask if you're.... "borrowing" a WiFi connection?

If so... Live in fear. You're within a few hundred feet of a man who posted his naked ass here to "moon" a moderator.

If not, there's (I'm sure) other reasons the IP could be the same. Probably something due to with however your local ISPs assign them.

This is Squiggy...posting from his work computer.

I do have a Verizon phone but I hardly ever post on it because the LG EnV touch doesn't make the experience all the fun.

Ain't that the truth. I love my EnV2, but surfing the web on it sucks.

Do we have permission from the Mod to start an MA thread on this?

I for one would be for an MA thread if only to get the discussion out of this thread. There are too many posters weighing in on this for it to be by PM only. However, let's wait for Locutus to weigh in before anyone starts one.

Mod permission isn't needed or given. My understanding is that if poster X gets an infraction, anyone can "contest" it in MA - not just the infractee. But this conversation needs to stop in here... once again, its way off topic.

when I'm on my boat I use whatever wifi is available, usually wifi provided by the marina.

Since I started staying with Jason, his computer is better than mine, lol. But he's somehow connected remotely to his work and I'm under strict rules as to what I can and can not do on it. Forums like this are ok, but if I want porn I have to use my own notebook on his wifi or the cell phone.

Unfortunately gaming is restricted my own computer as well, which sucks because WoW would be awesome on his computer.

I should just drop the cash and buy a new computer but I'm lazy, lol

give me my account back and I will gladly follow your rules. I'm seriously not a trouble maker, but I won't stand for being smacked with a ban stick without so much as a "excuse me, wtf are you doing"?

You like being smacked with other sticks, I'm sure. ;)

You live on a boat, Molly? You got more guts than me. I'm just this shy of seasick whenever I'm on one. Closest I usually get to the water is wandering the beach at Coney Island...

when my parents died, i went through two years of state supervised hell until I was legally entitled to the money they had left me. Once I got that money, I said "fuck it" and decided to indeed be a pirate

well, a pirate in the sense that I live on a boat and go pretty much where I want and dress like a pirate.

I don't rob people...

rape... well... no comment, lol

For clarity's sake, here are the rules for posting in MA as posted in the thread stickied to the top of the MA forum

Posted by T'Bonz

From now on, when complaining about a moderator action (or inaction), the following should be done.

1. The person starting the M.A. thread must first contact the moderator privately about the issue and try to resolve it before opening a thread in M.A. If the issue cannot be resolved privately, only then may a thread be started in M.A. (and copies of the attempt to settle the issue via PM should be sent to the M.A. mod so that he or she will know that the poster may now start a M.A. thread.

2. A link to the post in question must be provided.

3. The poster must state why the warning is not deserved (or why an action should have been taken,) not demand an explanation for the warning or lack of action.

4. ALL posters, including the thread starter, must be reasonable and civil in the thread. No demanding an action, name-calling or dragging in other extraneous items will be permitted.

Failure to follow these steps will result in the thread being closed.
Note that this does not say that the thread in MA must be started by the person who was warned. However, it DOES state that whoever does start the thread does have to attempt to resolve the issue using PMs first. Only once that has happened can the issue be taken to MA.

Also, I agree with SPOCKED. Discussion of this topic in this thread stops immediately. This has gone on too long and you have all but ignored two previous instructions from mods to cease this. The derailment of this thread ends now.

ED: Upon further consideration, I am locking this thread. Comments/discussion to PM.

I don't really see the point.

If anyone has any actual insights on how they could share the exact same IP address (and not just wild speculation) they can talk to the admins via PM.

It's really much ado about nothing though since all he's been given is a single infraction. He hasn't been banned or anything, because as said, long-term contributing members are given the benefit of the doubt over brand new members.

If anyone doesn't like that and considers it a double-standard, they can also PM the staff. Grandstanding in MA isn't going to solve anything.
