New 2017 titles and blurbs - DTI, McCormack DS9, and more!

That's how the “based on“ on the title page in every DS9 book looks like IIRC (just checked two recent ones and they all mention TOS, TNG and DS9.

Regarding the missing Deep Space Nine I see your point, but that could be either because they usually use the stylized series header there and this is just a placeholder or could be that OS indeed is a Robinson based novel, so they want to go with a more open series title.

The Prey novels have the same 'based on' credit, too, so it's not unheard of for it to be something else...

I suppose it could indicate that the story spans the serieses - like something which began in Kirk's time culminates in the late 24th century?

No, the "Based on" credits just refer to the original sources of the core characters and concepts used in a book. For instance, my DTI novels/novellas all include a "Based on DS9" credit because the DTI, Lucsly, and Dulmur were introduced on DS9, and Aventine books get the same credit because of Ezri. And all the novels have a "Based on Star Trek" (i.e. TOS) credit along with whatever other series they're about, because all the subsequent shows were based on the original show.

Why not? It looks kind of neutral to me. Personally, I'd like to see the Picard facepalm grace a book cover.

It's more the quality of the cover or the quality of Picard's head I dislike. It looks too photoshopped. The colors are fine, though.
On the other hand..... It's almost the same with the new DS9 cover with Garak on it (Enigma Tales). People hate it because of the photoshopped look of it. Funny thing is, I like the Garak cover contrary to most of the other people around...
