New, 14-disc Ron Jones TNG soundtrack box set!

My guess is if you ordered from DD it shipped, but if you ordered from SAE they delayed the shipment to give people time to upgrade to signed copies if they wanted to.

It still is amazing to me that with this set I can now pop in one of these discs and listen to such great scores as "The Offspring", "Data's Day" and "Final Mission", scores which I never thought would see an album release and could only be enjoyed by watching the episodes themselves.

Amen! I was listening to "The Royale" last night and suddenly overcome with hilarious nostalgia for Sam Anderson's deadpan performance in that episode. Plus the swingin' jazz is always awesome!

I still have yet to fully listen to "The Royale", but I will eventually - it takes awhile to make it through all the discs in this set!

An update from Screen Archives:

Sorry for the delay. These box sets always confound everyone's estimates for manufacturing. The boxes are shipping only today from L.A. to SAE in Virginia -- a five-day transit. They should ship from SAE to customers early next week. Thanks for your patience.

Well, poo. A minor delay. At least we have more concrete info though.
I didn't see any updates on their site. Is that from an e-mail notification or some other forum?

Edit: Ah, I see now on the FSM message board. It is so nice to have someone on there that communicates directly with the customer/fans. :D

When I've ordered from SAE in the past they used USPS. This may qualify as an exception though. Probably best to email them to double-check, or maybe they list their shipping methodology on their site?

Lukas posts from time-to-time, but a few years ago he had the disc and shipping brought to SAE, so he has no control over that (within reason, I assume).

Other labels will talk to their fans too:

Roger Feigelson (Intrada Records head, intrada.com) also posts fairly regularly, along with fellow cohort Doug.

Perserverence Records head (I don't recall his name of user name at this monent), will also posts spurratically at FSM. As well as Taylor White(?) (Percepto Records, percepto.com).

Bruce Kimmel (Kritzerland Records, kritzerland) posts (maybe too)frequently at FSM, too -- often giving clues about his next CD release, in his thread for his last.

And of course CONSTANT posting from everybody's favorite MV Gerhard (La La Land Records, lalalandrecords.com).

Other label heads who post:
-- MMM (Monsterous Movie Music head -- forget his name)
-- (forget name) (Howlin' Wofl Records)

Don't think I've ever seen the head of Varese Sarabande post. Did see one guy from there, recently post at FSM, only after creating headed controversy and apologizing.

Received my delivery confirmation yesterday from SAE. Hopefully, my signed set will arrive today. Looking forward to listening to these sonic delights on my hour car ride to and from the workplace!

I'm assuming your delivery confirmation was via email. I Pre-ordered Sept 1st (SAE) and except for that initial transaction confirmation and order number, I haven't received a word from them. I saw on the SAE website that on Oct 5th the set is in stock and shipping. Maybe I'm getting a little too worried. Though it would be nice to get a status email reassurring me that my order didn't fall through the cracks.

I never got a confirmation by e-mail, but my online account shows it has a tracking number and everything. Not much more info following that lead though.

Mine was shipped on the 7th of October. Now it'll have to make the long journey to Holland. I just hope that customs won't intercept it and slap me with a fine.

Same here (Belgium), although I fear the worst. Stuff below $20 normally escapes their attention, but with a $149 price tag I fear the worst. To make matters worse, it usually takes them 2 to 3 weeks to process it. :klingon:

Well, disc 2 is officially my favorite. All three episodes on there: The Battle, Datalore, and 11001001; are the main reason I purchased this set. However, I am amazed at how many others are impressing me. We'll Always Have Paris is moodily delicious, and I had forgotten that awesome love theme from The Price that I used to listen to over and over again when I taped it in first run syndication all those years ago. :D Q-Who is my other favorite.

The Best of Both Worlds score

I never really payed that close of attention.
I just viewed this video while listening with good headphones.

STTNG The Best of Both Worlds Isolated OST: Captain Borg

Isolated music soundtrack for a scene.
If this is sync'd up properly. Wow!
This is really great!
Ron Jones really composed a feature film quality musical score!

It's not synced up properly. Timing wise, it adds up ... but various "points" where certain notes from the music hit don't synchronize with the visual cues from the episode. Either that, or YouTube is messing with me tonight (which, I admit, is totally possible).

That said, it is a fantastic track from a fantastic score for a fantastic episode.
