Warped9, FAN-tastic! Your designs are hereby entered into my personal version of Star Trek canon. Where were your ideas when Bob Fletcher needed 'em, I ask? :D

As for you, Odysseus, niiiice. Very nice indeed. :)

^^ DOH! I just noticed it too.

I'll have it fixed tomorrow.

Odysseus, that is a fantastic image. Very cool.

Re: A TOS/TMP Uniforrm Crossover Stunt.

thanks everyone :)

it took 4 days. there's no shot of the tos enterprise like that. i scoured the internet and used over 60 images (screencaps only) to pieces together the angles i needed. i think it was worth it.

Holy crap! Is that my shuttle? I honestly never would have thought so had you not said something. Looks mighty real, good job.

Perhaps it's just the six glasses of wine consumed at a dinner get-together, but that made me sad. :(

Goddamn that's beautiful. Until you explained it I was going to ask whose CGI model of the Enterprise you used for that, because it'd be the best I've seen.

nothing beats the old gal herself :) a lot of these old ships are perfectly fine i think for modern filming purposes, imo it's just down to the angles and the lighting.

Re: TMp Uniform alternative...

The change in the shoes alone would've won you the undying gratitude of the cast.

Agreed. Although I did try just changing the shoes and it's 50/50 as to whether that alone is enough of a change. Perhaps if the traousers on the two-piece needn't actually be charcoal blue as they are here but simply the same yet somewhat darker hue of the top.

In the end I applaud the effort in TMP to do something genuinely creative with the uniforms to reflect a distinctly futuristic society even if they fumbled it. None of the subsequent Trek uniforms have ever really won me over. The early TNG uniforms were another admirable attempt (I rather liked the shoulder treatment), but the materiel used was obciously ill-suited to the taskand the one-piece treatment also looked silly.. I think it would have looked much better as a two-piece. Interestingly some of the speculative "future" uniforms seen in TNG were interesting and I think would have looked much better than what they actually had.

Re: TMp Uniform alternative...

The primary problem with the early TNG uniforms, material-wise, wasn't the spandex itself, but the fact that it was cut running vertically, i.e., the stretchyness ran mainly from the shoulders down, which was holy hell on everyone's backs, Patrick Stewart's especially (the decision to change the uniform design was based in no small part to his chiropractic bill).

Re: TMp Uniform alternative...

My take on "The Cage" and the WNMHGB uniforms. Essentially green gold for Command, familiar ble for Scieces and dark gold sand for Support. If I had my druthers I'd like to have seen Medical with a lighter shade of blue perhaps. I'm still working on the female variants.
