Netflix greenlights new "Lost in Space"

As for "binging" series, I don't really like to do that. At most I will watch two episodes a day of a Netflix series (sometimes three) and then leave it for a day or two or a week before returning to it. This way I can easily watch several series at once, and have time to reflect on the stories before moving on to new episodes.
I'm not alone! Sniffle ;)
Back during the dvd rental days, I'd watch a least 2 episodes on one night, and save the other 2 (usually, hour shows would feature 4 eps per disc), for the next. No matter how much I may like a show, I just can't force myself to gorge them in one sitting. There's no real rush to race through a series for me, I don't think I wind up enjoying it as much just running thru episode after episode.

How did Earth find out about the alien technology, which they managed to use for 23 trips already to Alpha Centauri?
My memory is a bit fuzzy since it's been a while, but didn't all this start with one of the machines being shot down on Earth?
Are there actual aliens who control the robots or are they actually a mechanical alien race?
My personal suspicion is that they're some kind of Von Neumann machine, possibly so old whatever civilisation first sent them out could easily be long gone.

Funny how we don't think twice at the availability to "binge watch" a series now. Whereas in the latter 70s, the CBS affiliate for southern Georgia and northern Florida, WCTV Channel 6, would occasionally run a Friday late night marathon of Star Trek reruns, 3 or 4 episodes, back to back and at that time it was considered "amazing!" More than a single episode in a row?! Who was so bold as to offer that?! (Oh, I'm sure other stations did things like that; I'm just siting an example about which I personally know.) But at the time, it was mind blowing!

I agree that the writers did a pretty good job of telling an intact story while leaving these areas to be explored in future seasons. My family and I spent quite a bit of time discussing this show after we finished watching.

Can I join your club guys?
I also don't binge anymore, I have learned to only nibble at shows like one or two episodes at a time, Binging kind of ruins the fun.

I don't have time to binge. I got shit to do.
And, binging isn't so much fun.
And I think, in a lot of ways, binging has sort of ruined Must See TV. If it's bingable, the conversation lasts a weekend, and if you didn't binge, you miss the conversation. At least with weekly, there's anticipation and conversation to be a part of.

Something lately I have rediscovered.

I agree about binging. Sometimes the mood strikes to do but it is usually better to extend the experience. Star Trek though tends to be a little different though maybe that is because I have seen them so many times it feels more like a escape to a better world than just a tv experience. Jason

I'm kind of the opposite -- I tend to get drawn into binge-watching a show even when I'd rather take it slow. It's always been my tendency to get really caught up in one thing at a time.

My wife and I, being old codgers, still like to watch all our shows 1 episode per week, usually on the same weeknight. Whether live or streaming or on disc. It just seems like the correct way to watch a show.

That's when we watch together, mind you. On our own, in our separate craft rooms, we'll each have one favorite old show running on a binge, either an hour show one-per-night, or a 1/2 hour show 2 or 3-per.
