Netflix’s Lost in Space Season 2

My favourite episodes were the first couple in season one and two. Once they reunited with the crew, it became less interesting to me.

ME and mother love this show and sad to see it end so early but oh well. At least it will have an ending instead of a cliffhanger.

Argh! As others have posted: glad S3 renewed - but also sad it’s gonna be the final season...

Looking very forward to it!

Gald it is renewed fo season 3 but sad it will be the final season. So that will put it at 30 episodes which I believer is the episode count For the original show first season.

I'm surprised they are doing a final season already. It doesn't really feel like they've gotten Lost in Space yet. Maybe I was expecting too much going into this show, but it's a sci fi adventure but it seems like they know where they are.

I've really enjoyed the show and I'm looking forward to the final season.

Oh sad...... Well 3 seasons is better then no seasons I guess.

Yeah, this sucks. It's easily one of their best shows, from the acting and the production design to everything else about it. Quite honestly, we need more shows with the show's qualities such as heart and optimism, not less. Hearing this though makes me wonder how expensive a show it was.

I'll be most curious if this was a creative choice or a Netflix one. For whatever reason Netflix seems averse to going beyond three or four seasons for anything that isn't animated or scores a substantial social media/press acclaim footprint, a la Stranger Things.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Three seasons seems to be their comfort zone. It seems they get nervous at anything beyond that unless something is a big hit. But I thought I remembered hearing that Lost in Space was one of their bigger hits, which is why this puzzles me so much.

Well it could be the 10 million per episode budget.

The show runner Zack Estrin says LiS was meant last only three seasons:

From the beginning, we’ve always viewed this particular story of The Robinsons as a trilogy,” Estrin said. “A three-part epic family adventure with a clear beginning, middle and end. It’s also worth noting that, with what these characters go through just trying to survive each episode — if anyone deserves to catch their breath before their next mission — it’s Will, Penny, Judy, Maureen, John, Don West, Dr. Smith… and The Robot. And, of course, Debbie the Chicken

Catch their breath between missions? Could that mean they have something else planned for the series after the last season?
