Nero's ship

I have the sense this "space-octopus" probably didn't originate with the Romulans. Just a feeling, nothing more.

Oh, it does look HUGE (wasn't there a thread awhile back about superstructures in space?) and alien otherworldly.

Yeah, my guess would be that it is not a Romulan ship.

I hope the "tentacles" have some pratical purpose, and are not just there because they look cool.

Frikkin awesome looking ship, can't wait to see it on the big screen.
Glad to see that once again they ignore the possible non-fan backlash on
this one and did something that LOOKS as much alien as it is supposed to be.

Ah yes, someone doesn't like something about the show, so suddenly there are a "non-fan" of the entire franchise... Am I reading you correctly?

I'm amused that while the "non-fans" discuss what they don't like about the movie, or about one of the series, or an episode, there is always someone else who has to whine about someone else not liking it and making them out to be a basher.

After watching seven years of Voyager, I thought it was really odd how of the dozens of space-faring races they met, all those ships seemed to have quite a bit of design commonalities. Voyager went where no man had gone before and had seen, well, more of the same.

Compared to TOS which, in three years, went up against the Fesarius ship that dwarfed the Borg, the Space Amoeba, the Planet Killer, and a giant green hand. THAT's imagination.

I say, bring on the Dr. Octogonapus ship. Our heroes can handle it!

The first two images clearly show a fuzzy distortion near the right edge. Is this a time vortex of some sort?

I'm sure they do. Perhaps they can link together to form that planet drill - that drill must be thousands of miles long to reach from orbit to the center of Vulcan.

Well I think that the drill hangs from the ship into the atmosphere and fires a particle weapon into the planet.

Hm, I didn't know that it was essentially a reused model. That's interesting. Thanks for the info.

Great find! Loved the design of that ship in Enterprise. :techman:
I actually liked it better when it was the "Chaotic space hulk" on Voyager: http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Unnamed_Delta_Quadrant_starships#Chaotic_space_hulk

No problem. Even when I first saw it on Enterprise, I remember thinking that I had seen it somewhere previously, if only fleetingly.

You mean, flea-like. ;) And yes, it's a completely obvious re-use of a previous model they made for an episode of VOY. Now everyone jokingly calls it the "warflea".
