I'll call it right now, Nero will be the best Star Trek villain since the last one.
Bana has more gravity and menace.
I don't think I could ever see the person who played Poida as having gravity and menace.
As noted above, Nero sure as hell doesn't dress as well as Shinzon.
The newly released Nero image backs up the vibe I get from this guy IMO.

Look at him, he's thinking pretty darned hard about something.
("Hmm, where did I leave that photon torpedo-proof fridge?")
In the EW article it talks about how Nero and his crew are rouges.

Ooh, I hope so!What's the staff all about anyway? A TIME TRAVEL STAFF?
"A cross between the Death Star and Mordor"??? Hmm... why does their ship have to look eeeevil?
My concerns...the name. That just doesn't sound right for a Romulan.

Why not? They don't view themselves as evil. Their ships have a history of looking very neat, clean, and advanced."A cross between the Death Star and Mordor"??? Hmm... why does their ship have to look eeeevil?
Um, psychological warfare. They're the Romulan Star Empire. One must assume that they didn't conquer and get to where they are with nice, shiny, white ships and kind words.
