Nemesis and Trek XI similarities - It seems Bad

I think that Trek XI is going to be a completely different kind of Trek movie. I'm not sure we'll even be able to compare it to the other films. And I definitely don't see any similarities between Trek XI and NEM.

NEM was a continuation of TNG and was produced by Rick Berman, with a story from Berman, Spiner and Logan. Sure, John Logan may have been new to Trek, but Rick Berman was still running the show. He has contributed to every TNG movie script. It also didn't help matters that they went back and copied TWOK because it was popular. Stuart Baird is a terrible director - I'm not sure why he even got the job, except that I think he signed a deal with Paramount to direct something for them and they needed to find a project, so they threw it at him. Baird is an award-winning editor, but he has no business being in the director's chair.

Trek XI is a completely new creature. There's a whole new creative team involved. No Rick Berman. The writers, producers, director, production designer, costume designer, composer, etc. etc. will be 100% fresh.

I also have a lot of faith in J.J. Abrams. He has done a great job on this other projects, and he does like to surround himself with talented people.

Trek needs new blood. Now, I don't think it would be a bad idea if someone who has experience in Trek were involved in a limited way (say Ira Steven Behr or Ron Moore to consult) as long as creativity is all from the new team. But there is nothing wrong with all original people being involved to help bring in new blood and new flavor and to keep thngs fresh.
